I use social bookmarking to index my sites, apart from that, it's not effective for ranking. I link from Digg, Delicious, Linked In and Google Buzz, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Twitter, and MySpace, but you would do better to publish regularly, and comment on high page rank channels and videos within You Tube. If you are serious about ranking a video, embed it on articles, and make high quality back links to your channel and videos from everywhere.

Yes, it does worked for me. But do not over use this method. Social bookmarking with other link building methods will get good results. Try to embed your youtube videos on other sites like web 2.0.

It may help slightly and temporarily.

However if you want to truly improve your rankings you need to make a GREAT video that does the hard work for you.

Other people should be liking, commenting and starring your video. They would also link to it via their websites, blogs and facebook pages.

You shouldn't have to do any of this for a great video it happens naturally.

Submitting your videos to social bookmarking sites will help you get more traffic and backlinks, which may improve your rankings over time. If you create an interesting video, it will naturally attract backlinks.

In my opinion social bookmarking lost its value. You can still use it, but don't rely only on social bookmarking when it comes to improving your rankings.

I also agree with the members above me who talked about the quality of the video. A good video will only need a slight push; a bad video will have to be towed for ever.

I agree in some sense. I think social bookmarking isn't as powerful as it used to be. But it still does work for sure.
