No ads WHERE? If you're looking at the Google search results on the right hand side, keep in mind that those ads are on the SEARCH network, whereas the ads you plan to make money from are on the CONTENT network.

Go to Ezine Articles and type your keyword in the search. Click on article that contains or relates to your keyword and look at the Google ads (ignore the Chitika ads unless you plan on monetizing with Chitika). Are the ads relevant and are there several of them and moreover, would you click on them if you were searching for your keyword term?

These should be considerations on a par with approximate CPC and search volume.
