Social Media Marketing is already added in SEO. I'm waiting for next big thing in SEO. Sick of using these old SEO techniques.

Not sure if this will happen in 2012 or 2013 but its coming where Grocery stores will have a better tie-in with customers using smart phones to pay for their groceries. In addition to having the ability to have coupons sent automatically those users and then having those coupons deducted from their final bill. These Coupons would appear directly from the distributor and automatically sent to the user phone for their upcoming purchases.
Imagine the SEO potential off of coupons that distributors dont really have to manage but allow them more face time with customers

To some extent this has already happened. Stop and Shop has "Peapod" an online supermarket you can order from, that delivers and if you have an android phone you could order from your phone rather than your computer.

Social Media and social media interaction will continue to increase in value as will On-Page SEO. Sites will have to have better and better usability and quick load times.

Google Plus social network will also be launching their business pages soon which will make an impact on the whole scene too.

Things will continue to evolve for sure.

Anchor text will most likely play a less important role in seo. Definitely focus more on + cuz Google invested a whole lot on that platform to give users a better experience.

If you've been around the SEO game for any time at all you would know it's not a yearly change rather monthly.

It is important to keep an eye on your techniques and verify that there could be seen the same results and more than the previous as things are constantly changing when it comes to search engines and how they evaluate your site.

The things to come in the next year are the same as the things that have come in the past years such as the elimination of bad content and better organization of good content. No matter where you are distributing content you must verify that you were delivering the best quality you possibly can not only with this ensure long-lasting visibility but it better helps your niche which you are contributing to .

    In SEO,
At the end of 2010 - Profile link building was famous, everyone goes after that, but now it is not,

At the end of 2011 - Web 2.0 blogging and article marketing is still rocking as usual, hope this will be working in 2012 as well as.

I am fairly new to this but I plan to spend almost all of my effort enriching the content of social media sites vs blogs forums and article sites and see how it goes. I will keep going after a good amount of high pr links though.

I doubt much more will change in 2012 compared to now. Social still has a long way to go before G+ can be an accurate gauge of useful information. Most people still aren't using G+ for anything other than some branding.

However, I do see more of the schema.org integration becoming important. People want to know what's on a page before they click on it, so having that type of metadata in the SERPs will play a very powerful role. Start integrating that stuff into your sites now, because it's going to be big eventually.

I see private blog networks still being powerful for another year or two at least. At some point, social might overtake the lead, but it's too easy to "game" right now to be very intelligent data.

Indeed Google seems to give more and more value to social interaction and social proof, meaning if your website carries a lot of value and is interactive to the visitors, which makes them +1 your site and like it on FB and what not, then your rankings will follow!

Although the "old" SEO is not "dead", as many people claim, backlinks will always be a factor in SEO.
