.info domain names

Hey guys, got a newb question. I'm thinking of churning out a batch of amazon review pages and I was wondering about the ranking properties of .info sites. More specifically:

1) Does google favor .com, .org, .net, .anything over .info?

2) Is it more difficult to rank a .info domain name?

3) Ok idea in general to make review sites ending in .info?

They're cheap, that's why I'm asking. It'd be a 80% savings to buy those over .com and I can get better keywords in the url. Thanks in advance for your time

  • Google seems to favor my .infos over my .coms, especially since the Panda update
  • The general belief is that Google prefers the top-level domains (com/net/org) and ranks them higher but many people have reported having success with .info domains. My suggestion: try it out once, if it works out, use it more often.
  • Well google has made it clear many times that it doesn't favor any specific domain extensions, it only counts the domain trust that it builds by the links and age of the domain.

You can use .info domains if you feel you can chose a more better one there.
  • I've had a few .info websites, I've had some do well, while others have flopped; I agree with trying it out. It might work great for you.
  • Domain extension is irrelevant

I do think it makes some difference to put the main kw in the domain name, how much I am not sure

I think EMD. .com net org adds a little advantage, but some will dispute this and say it does not mean crap. It certainly used to add a lot of juice to sites
