I had a single page site that I was promoting using AdWords for about a week, making decent sales, with a quality score around 7/10. Then Google starting disapproving my ads because it was a "affiliate or bridge site". So I added some extra pages to the site like contact us, a review of the product, privacy policy, etc because I thought the problem was my site only had 1 page. When I added those pages my ads were approved, but now I have a quality score of 0/10! I've created new campaigns and new ads but Google are dead-set in their hatred of my site, which is weird because I have a almost identical site in a parallel industry, with basically only the product names changed in the copy, and it has a quality score of 8/10. I've emailed Google a couple of times but they just say, "make it more relevant". If I bought a new domain name and redirected it to that site would Google notice and punish it again? What can I do to get Google to like my site again?

There has been a lot of research done on this (Google slap) and they don't budge. Once you're marked, you're marked. Get a new domain, and redo it right. If you're not sure how to get ranked well quickly, check out One Hour Google below...

      Hi Nicx0r,

It's usually not hard to rehabilitate your account. Unless your website has been banned you probably just need to fix a few things. If you get a new domain you usually end up slapped all over again unless you can find what caused the slap and fix it.

AdWords has a great tool built into your account that will tell you in general terms what is causing your poor quality score. It's called the Keyword Analysis Page. Why don't you run that tool and let us know what it says? Once you know what the problem is, we can set out to fix it.

The Keyword Analysis page says that my website is not relevant, which I find difficult to believe because of my other near-identical site having a great quality score. I've purchased a new domain name and am moving the site over now, hopefully it won't happen again.

You probably need a real website, as in more than like 5 pages of generic "privacy policy" and other pages like that.

Try and create a content rich website. I used to have a massive problem with PPC because I had a 5~10 page crap site. But after that I made a real site with more than 30 pages of content. I never had a problem since.

I have 5-page websites that rank 9/10 on a regular basis. So, I don't think the number of pages within your site has any effect. My sites aren't crap though.

          Hi Nicx0r,

Perhaps you misread it, I'm pretty sure that " website is not relevant" is not one of the possible responses. We need the exact information that this page tells you.

The Keyword Analysis Page gives you details and recommendations. Under the "What should I do?" section it will give you a specific recommendation. Under the "Details of the quality score" section it breaks things down into three distinct areas:
          • Keyword Relevance
          • Landing Page
          • Landing page Load Time
Please post the information that displays in these two sections of the Keyword Analysis Page and we can attempt to work through your issues.

Getting a new domain will see you in the exact same situation if you don't fix the actual problem. Google doesn't care what your domain name is.

How do you "rehabilitate" an account? I have an account that I am having problems with (low QS).

How do you tell if it is your account that Google doesn't like or if it is your website? I may not be saying that exactly right for the question I have. I understand the difference between Google not liking your Adwords campaigns and Google not liking the content on your website. How do you tell the difference? And also, more importantly (to me), if Google thinks that your website is "spammy", can you "rehabilitate" your website? If so, how? I have what I think is a fairly good website that I have put a lot of time into (and I like the domain name). I just recently have started running some PPC stuff that is not going well. I am hoping it is just my Adwords account that Google doesn't like and not my website. How do I tell?

      Hi Warriors,

I would like to ask why some folks are recommending that you get a new domain name?

Your domain name doesn't cause your poor quality score and getting a new domain name won't fix your problem. If there is a legitimate reason for getting a new domain name, I would really love to know what it is.

You can tell by my signature that I'm in the business of selling domains, yet I wouldn't recommend getting a new domain name, even though I could profit by doing so. This is because I truly believe it won't fix your problem. Am I missing something here?

I agree, Don. If he moves his site to a new domain, then he will just have two domains that G doesn't like.

It sounds like G is telling you that your website and your keywords don't match. If you copied your website but just changed the product names, then maybe that is the issue. Maybe you should change the rest of your website so that it reflects what keywords you are using.
