I usually approve them, but have no real idea how much they have affected the serps, if at all. I just like to share the comment love.

Pingbacks can easily be forged as a method of getting backlinks. This is why I check out what the pingback is and if it is a legit link, then yes I will approve. If it's dodgy, trash it.

I never approve them as they can be seen as a link exchange.

However, I do collect them and ping them to help index the backlinks.

I use a plugin called Pingback Power that is available via one of the WF members. See

UMS thanks, however these pingbacks seems to be coming from pages and articles I created on the site, like if they are interlinking or something, what do I do?

BTW: I do link insert anchor texts in my articles to the main site for SEO purposes

But I'm confused on what to do now, I've always ignored these pingback stuffs for long but I really want to know what's up with them now

Yes, I do. I also enable dofollow links on URLs left in comments on my blogs. If the site is offensive, illegal or excessively spammy, I just don't approve the comment. If it's a quality comment and a quality URL, I'll be happy to give a dofollow link.

I used a plugin to remove the nofollow attribute on my wordpress sites.
