My bounce rate is up in the 85%-90% range and wandered if any of you can work out why: Newbie IM Courses - A Huge Collection of Internet Marketing Courses Specifically for Newbies

That's the site.

I've built so many sites and never have a bounce rate up in the 80s so to 90 was a shocker.

Just wandered what you guys think? Can you work out why it's so frickin high etc.

Thanks in advance.

    Just a few thoughts:

It's a little hard to know where to start. I land on your site and don't know where to go first.

Also, if somebody is a newbie, they may not even know what IM stands for.

There's also no headline that compels one to keep reading.

So I'm writing this as I'm looking at your site and just noticed the intro on the top-right.

My eyes were first drawn to the top left. By the way, since that's the way we read, you should put the most important things there. That's the reason ads are usually created that way (with the most important info at the top-left).

Try swapping the graphic and the welcome paragraph.

    Hope this helps a bit,

    Zach

Nice thought. It's easy to swap them round. So I might swap them, and then I might alter the text a bit. Add a little bit more to explain, a bigger headline etc. Thanks a lot mate.

I can answer that question for you. This is one SLOW web page. Friend, I have a high speed broad band connection, and a quad core processor. Also, a boat load of memory. Why does it take so long to load is my question for you. Certainly, I hope you have an answer. I was tempted to hit the back arrow. However, I wanted to see your content and if that was the reason. I did not see anything to offend me. Mostly is was all gray.

The layout is a bit confusing when it comes to your call to action standing out. You have Steps 2-5 on the page, where is Step 1? I would change the layout to make it very newbie friendly with a big bold call to action i.e. - Start Your Journey to Internet Marketing Success HERE. Layout steps a bit better than what is currently listed.

You have a pretty neat design there. Maybe you could try making your headline and Sign Up button stand out more. They seem to blend in too much with the page.

Yeh. The site loads for me too fine so not sure if that's an issue on my side or yours, but always will considering increasing site load speed.

The Steps 2 - 5 are on the home page as they are the most recently added. I am going to try and redesign that area of the site to maybe get more people clicking through to courses.

And I like the idea of making the call to action box a little bigger to make sure visitors are drawn to it.

Thanks for all the help so far guys. Really do appreciate it.

For decreasing bounce rate you can do following things:-
    1) Decrease your page load time.
    2) Update your web page content within a short duration of time.
    3) Make eye-catching layout for your web page.
    4) off page submission should contain informative and useful content.
    5) Also think that your website is providing useful information according to user point of view or not.
