I have a wordpress niche site. I would like to improve my on-page seo, however I read that google takes only 30% from page SEO in google position, so the main things are backlinks, I guess?

How many MAIN-KEYWORD should I have per post, if I have 4 posts and they are all on the main page. Thanks.

Don't sweat the details over keyword density. Since the first Panda update to Google's search algorithm earlier this year the actual content on your site is way more important. So just focus on writing detailed, well-researched and well-written articles.

This article I've linked to below explains how SEO has changed, and there's a link at the bottom to an article on SEOMoz, explaining in further detail.

And yes - ultimately off-site SEO has more impact on your search results placing.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Bringing a dog home and introducing him to brand new surroundings is both fun and challenging. As a new dog owner it is your responsibility to see to that your dog has everything he needs to feel safe, be healthy and to keep him entertained. Your dog will need daily care, exercise, vet visits, training and years of commitment on your part.

If your homepage displays all your posts (as you mentioned 4 posts), make sure to use raed more tag.
This will just display the snippets of posts and will help you to avoid duplicate content issue.

I only target one keyword per post, the other related keywords will just follow even without optimizing them.

For blog posting, I think 1 keyword is good for single posting

According to me you can target 2-3 keywords per post, but it entirely depends on content of your blog post.
