It appears as though Google has either intentionally or unintentionally reset every website's pagerank (pr) to 0.

Temporary or not?

Lol if it's not temporary they should be sued. It's saddening how much power google has, how many businesses they can make or break. I wish they have much more competition, competition is healthy in business, because everyone benefits, not just the corp.

Yup, except Google doesn't have any PR either at the moment.

Yep, three of my clients asked me about the situation.

I just guess, perhaps Murphy is likely the culprit. I have just suggested them, to be patient. The big G. has all the knowledge, people and tools to correct the problem.

        So, patience, patience.

        Best,

        Sandor

In my experience, PR has lost it's significance a long time ago. Today in my opinion it's nothing more than a guideline: a bad website couldn't possibly be PR7.

This issue, as Sandor said needs patience. Google's rankings didn't change, (at least for now), therefore best thing is to sit tight, and be patient.

Few hours ago I posted a thread about it that my ALL of my sites are showing PR (N/A) today, although my sites were having PR3 - PR1 but Mr. moderator deleted my thread, I don't know why? Anyway! It looks that Google has finished the PR. By the way my site is sitting on the same rankings right now. So, no idea what's going on. Now just wait and watch.

We can all see from Google's SERP's, any time we like, how unimportant page ranks are, just from the regularity with which lower-PR pages (often with fewer backlinks) are outranking higher-PR pages (often with more backlinks) ... yet still some people like to imagine that Google's never-ending reminders that SEO is all about quality and relevance (i.e. rather than page ranks and numbers of backlinks alone) are fictional.

Wouldn't it be lovely if Google had finally abandoned "page ranks", rather than simply continuing inexorably to devalue their significance further and further while still maintaining the pretence that they're actually worth paying attention to?

I can't see it happening, though. Unfortunately.

Still, that's probably sigh-of-relief time for all the backlink-sellers?

Here is the voice of wisedom Wouldn't be better to worry about the quality of what you deliver to your visitors than Google may slap you because they change their algorithm.

The IM world has shifted his attention in last couple years toward quality beats quantity. Do you feel at the end of the day you contribute to a greater cause than yourself?

This makes all the difference between making money and working (which make more money at the end of the year).

It was nothing to do with a Google slap otherwise all the other sites PR would have stayed the same.

Look at Andew Schoons post a couple above yours.

I’m glad I read this thread because I didn’t pay attention to this problem, and now that I read about it I checked my websites and I saw no page rank.

The PR reflects the number of visitors a website gets per day… for those looking for high PR pages like internet marketers… In a few words, it is important only for internet marketers’ eyes. So, many people ‘could’ distort this value on purpose…

I tend to agree that the PR doesn't really matter.

Clever, I don't agree with that at all.

PR does not reflect how many visitors a site gets a day. Minimal research on Google will show you that. If that was the case I could manipulate it at will.

There is far more involved than that and I've never seen anyone definatively say exactly how it's calculated so I don't see how you can.

Besides if it was all about how many visitors a site got why, as a marketer, would that not matter to you?

Its so amazing guys how no one mention the difference between Page Rank and Page Trust.
Page can have rank of 7 but if its niche (specific and rare) is weak thy can have few visitors but steel be the best for this niche. And page with low PR (2-3)but popular niche (games, torrents, free stuff, porn ..etc)
We all need PR to see where we are in our niche, only Google has to pay bigger attention on this and work more on it.

Google changed the URL To query PAGERANK, that's all! Wait for website owners or extension authors to release a new working version of the extension. Meanwhile I think the google toolbar works! Good news is Some of tools are working for now

I just visited a Facebook Fan Page with over 1,000,000 Fans, and I noticed one post had 4,170 likes. All I could think was this; I wonder what its PageRank is? Interesting.

Why is this such a big deal? PR was pointless in the first place.

PR was pretty much as valuable as a "thanks" on Warrior Forum. It doesn't really do anything, but people want it.

Well, you hit the nail on the head with the first statement.

A useless thread, about nothing, getting 25+ replies. I don't know how
people have so much time, or crap their pants over just about anything.

      BTW, PR is quite valuable.

Google made a single word change in the URL. I used it to fix the Firefox WebRank Toolbar addon and you can see how at www dot naples-fl-real-estate.com/2011/webrank-google-pagerank-fix/

Update: Guys nothing happened to PR, I am researching from yesterday and at-least I found the result. Simply install the SEO Quake and you will be able to see the PR right now. Maybe Google is updating something and PR will be showing back shortly. By the way here is the pagerank decrease post which is explaining what happened and how to cover everything up. Cheers.
