How would you attack this?

When I publish product reviews on my site, I normally start off on page 3 for keywords like : product + review

None of these keywords get over 1000 exact match searches per month. Many are around 320 or so.

If we are going to look at the #1 competing pages, I'd say none have over 15 links pointing at them on average... And it generally looks like I can stomp them with some BMR link building... Hopefully.

What would you do in this situation? Do you think it's worth it going after the #1 spot for all these keywords or do you think that's not enough traffic to even bother with it?

  • Lots of small numbers add up over time.

    If the products are evergreen, I'd do some link building to the pages. Articles work well for me and if you check your stats every now and then they can bring up some extra keywords to tackle which in turn bumps up the search numbers.

      I just want to make sure I'm not wasting my efforts.

      I've got about 52 pages and keywords with exact match searches between 92 and 1000 per month.

      None look particularly hard to win the #1 spot.
  • I think that even if these keywords get searched by only a few people... it will still be worth it to go after them, if these people are very much willing to spend their money on the products that you are targeting.

    That's just my opinion though...
    I suppose it's still about making sure that your niche is profitable enough to concern yourself with.
