What's Your Favorite Link Building Tool?

Hey all, I've been curious about adding an automated link building tool to my link building regiment. I don't really know that much about how effective these tools are. I expect a lot of people on this site to trash them and may possibly warn against their use whereas I know a lot of other people regularly rely on them.

Any input would be very much appreciated.

Not people successfully earning a living, though. Very few of those rely on them, Laura.

It's one of those questions on which there are two totally, radically different consensuses of opinion: one from the enormous turnover of people who try but don't manage to make a living in internet marketing, together with others making a very good living from selling them automated tools and services which use them - it's a whole industry; and another, very different one from people building up successful businesses and making a great living in internet marketing (very few of us use them).

A great way to get backlinks that actually carry a lot of linkjuice because of their quality and relevance is simply to have outstanding content to which others, with relevant sites, choose voluntarily to link. This sort of off-page SEO is a whole different world and really shows up "mass automated backlinking" for what it is.

Any standard SEO textbook explains in detail why one would typically need many tens of thousands of mass, automated backlinks to produce the same linkjuice as one voluntary backlink from a relevant authority site.

One thing's for certain: people making the switch from quantity-based approaches involving mass backlinking and automation to off-page SEO based on quality and relevance are not switching back.

So - having, like so many other people, originally tried all those automated and mass-backlinking approaches and services without any measurable success at all from them - my favourite "tool" is just high-quality content. The SEO results are in a different world.

Automated tools can be useful to speed up things that you would be doing manually instead. However, if you are looking for a miracle SEO push-one-button-and-rank type tool, it doesn't exist.

Magic Submitter is probably the best one on the market right now. Good for bookmarking, creating and posting to blogs, submitting press releases to free PR sites, submitting videos to video sites, submitting RSS feeds, etc.

        sounds good, but $67 per month ... that's $900 for a year; that's a lot of money!!

The best link building tool is to have no guidelines in mind when doing building links.

Im not using anymore automated software but scrapebox for scraping.

I have 2 people working for me creating and posting blog comments/web 2.0 properties/articles etc.

The profiles will look extremely natural and will provide some value.
Sure it is not cheap, but SEO is not about quick money. I don't want to lose my ranks and income stream after some time just because all the spammy backlinks got deleted.

Manual and with a head. You can check your competitors for their backlinks and try to get them. If they rank well, you can too!

The problems is that sometimes you can not use the backlink resources from your competitors as the links theirs are from their own built sites or charged ones.

But for those links of less importance, yes we can make a good use of them.

Of course you can get all of the competitors' links, but if you take a look for the first 10 on 1. page in Google there you will find plenty of quality links. Then you can search for different major keywords you want to rank. And you find even more relevant and quality links.

I get a little annoyed when people keep saying that all one needs is quality original content to get ranked. I have an enormous site, all with quality, original content. I have students write essays about courses (all original articles, essentially), which are posted on my blogs. I have WAY more original and well-written content then my competitors. One of them who outranks me, hasn't added one new word on their site since 2007.

It takes a lot more than original content. And how exactly do you get these high-ranking, quality, relevant sites to voluntarily link to your site? I'm sure there are lots of people who would love to have me put their link on my page. I added a link for my friend because she's my friend and her site is somewhat related, so I did it as a favor. Her site is at the top for her niche now. I did it because she's my friend.

Otherwise, I don't feel compelled to put anyone else's link on my site. Why would I? And why would anyone else? Unless it's a blog where people are just talking about 'oh here's a site I came across' or whatever, what benefit is there for them to do that? And that's not exactly a high-authority, quality site.

I see this over and over here to 'just get quality links' and that backlinking services don't work, but I've been working my butt off for the last 18 months (at least) doing articles, bookmarking, videos, blogs, etc and nothing has changed.

So what's left then? If I don't use some sort of link-building service, I don't have anything else to pull out of my hat. I've asked on here repeatedly for ideas, but I've not gotten much yet. Someone did mention an inter-linking plugin for wordpress, which I just installed, and that may help, but for those who have been doing everything else with zero change in the search engines, what else is there to try?

You are halfway there and I agree with you I dont want people linking into my sites, that why my blogs do not allow commenting. What you need to do is is place adverts onto popular classifieds sites with links to your sites, maybe short snippets as to what is on your site. sites such as 1-family.com , usafreeads and adpost all have low Alexa rankings
that way you are building your own quality backlinks, manually make sure the links are keyword optimised

There seems to be a lot of "work harder, not smarter" attitude here on WF. It gets so bad sometimes that it is often a laughing point for members of other forums. Not only are these guys making a living from this stuff, but they are making a killing.

That said, as Mike already mentioned, there is no push button solution, but any repetitive task that can be done automatically should be done automatically.

Anyway, for the automated tasks, Article Marketing Robot, Magic Submitter, Bookmarking Demon, and some blog networks like Build My Rank and ArticleRanks

I like organic results and to achieve that i like to do link buiding manually automated softwares are not so reliable in my opinion. The best tools are the guidelines that are provided by search engines just follow them. Do not dispsie them and you will have amazing results.
