Adsense clicks only £0.09p

I have several websites all using Adsense to make money... they all used to be making over £1 per click, but this past week they are only averaging 9pence a click?

What could cause this, and how can I get it back to over the £1 mark?

Thanks

Google pays you a certain percentage of the advertisers money. One thing you must know is, CPC changes just like the amount of traffic your site receives everyday.

There are times where keywords that use to give me over $1 dropped to less than $0.20 mainly because the competition or traffic has dropped.

This is normal and your keyword can return to it rate hopefully.

  • Google has definitely flagged something in your account.

And here is what SUCKS about that. If you have a lot of sites Google applies filters or penalties or whatever you want to call them to ACCOUNTS not sites.

So look at the sites you are using Google Adsense on. Do you see any sites that are of particular low value?

The only way to test this is to pull the Ads off of those sites and wait... a week, a month? Who knows.

I have had to do this in the past. If you were pulling a buck a pop... sorry I'm not English so Pence and Pounds mean little to me... then you experience such a large drop while your traffic and other metrics have not changed you can be assured they are flagging something. Figuring it out is not easy.

I think a lot depends upon the niche. I have a site that generally pays out about a dollar a click. But on weekends this often drops down leading me to think that I might be getting clicks from users in other countries where the cost of purchasing an ad is less. I'd give it a bit more time before I really worried about the decrease.

It gets even stranger.. one of my websites always gets over £1 per click.. for the past 2 days they have been at 10p and also I had 60p for one click on another site, when i looked a few hours later the click was still registered but the money was at 0?

This is starting to get me down now - I want to build a profitable business using adsense but if this keeps happening I may have to look else where
