Friends, Enemies, Warriors:

We're always looking for the easy way to get PR3+ links, here's a video a friend forwarded to me. Go ahead and test it out - links are do-follow and on legitimate PR sites.

You'll need a few things going into this:

1. Tumblr account (follow the guys instructions) http://www.tumblr.com
2. SEO Quake Plugin SEOQuake - seo toolbar, plugin, seo extension for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera

Here's the video:

*If this has already been shared --> Get over it, recycling is what we do here:rolleyes:

*If you already know this --> *High Five/Chest Bump*

*If you don't know this --> You're Welcome

Cheers!

  • I will give you a "high five" on this. I am sort of an SEO junkie myself.
  • This is great! I knew that people have used Tumblr to generate social buzz, but never PR3-7 backlinks High five.

    Best Regards,
    vip-ip ...
  • Did you guys actually watch it? Great trick to have in the bag. Definately more to Tumblr.com than just creating a quick Web 2.0 link. I often use Tumblr.com links for quicker indexing - Google just seems to eat it up like candy.
  • Nice trick but unfortunately it looks like it's already being abused.
  • This "trick" is over a year and half old and utterly abused by now. The guys on the Xrumer forums have been abusing this for forever and even have software to automate/scale the entire process.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Shhhh, xrumer is a horrible word around here.... (don't help them)

But not only is this trick old, it's nothing more than a minor change on the tag spam principle, which itself is well over 5 years old.

    Thanks for this ...

  • This is awesome, thanks man!
  • Pretty great post here, thanks for the share.
  • Oops, looks like great stuff.
Cant watch the video now due to restrictions at the place I am in.
Will leave a review in few hours
  • I'll give you a high five for this. I used to do this strategy but I don't do it anymore. I still rely on linkwheels or heavy one-way backlinking.

    • Is there some trick to doing this without getting banned by tumblr? I tried it yesterday. Created a new account, set up a page and pointed it at my money site. Liked about 10-12 different blogs. Came back today and I'm totally banned. My likes are gone, and I can't even get the tumblr.com homepage now. Everything I try times out and I get this "rate limit exceeded" message, which is apparently weeniespeak for "we've decided to ban you... we won't tell you, we won't tell you why, and we won't actually admit that you are banned". My username had keywords in it, but there are still tons of likes still on the pages I went to that are obviously keywords, so I don't really know why I got singled out. Any ideas?

  • Wow.. awesome little technique! I would never have found this otherwise - I'll have to spend more time in Tumblr. Thanks for posting!

  • thanks man.. It works but the problem is, the link wont be permanent as others will get over your link on that page.
  • Is this method WH or not?
    • [2] replies
    • If you are asking such a question, then this method is not for you.
    • Totally WH. Google actually recommends it... I think it was even on Matt Cutt's blog.

  • I tried it on my website and though it's a cool trick..I guess I overdid it (only 27 likes on high PR tumblr) and now my website has been penalized to 600+ positions for over a week now on 90% of my keywords. Hopefully it will come back..

    • Thanks for sharing this technique here on WF.

Problem is that it is spammed so badly that
Tumblr admin guys will be banning the ones that abuse it.

Well, I'll try it anyway, but I'll take it easy.
Just one PR 7 link can make wonders
  • THis is already old but still works like a charm.
  • I tried this and my site had the highest rankings ever for a few days and now it's taken a nose dive. I hope it recovers soon.

I also noticed tumblr liked this is nofollow now.
  • Does this still work?
  • SearchStatus is showing them as nofollow for 2 days now. I think custom domain name ones are automatically made nofollow.

    • This is a fantastic way of getting on high PR websites. It lets google recognize you faster and more frequently. Its and great way to build your backlinks on those hard to find high PR's. Just my 2 cents worth.
  • it wasn't nofollow a few weeks ago. Showing it now?
  • I just got my account suspended!

I made a bot for building backlinks but i was too greedy... 25000 likes + 25000 reblogs in one day was too much!!!

  • This is why people shouldn't share techniques like this,

    1. That wasn't your property to share without their permission.
    2. Once you share an idea to a forum (especially Warriorforum) it gets instantly abused.
    3. Keep it to yourself lol
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Thats right. people on here complain about buying information and always want freebies but if I have trick or a way of doing things that is really effective I am NOT sharing it on this board for free. That you pay a price at least limits it to people who are willing to invest in their business. if not you have kids, people who are too new to take resources seriously and spammers that don't have any money from their websites but still dream they can make a few dollars spamming etc

  • Nice trick but unfortunately it looks like it's already being abused.
  • Lol! I think your post was a whistle blower and made Tumblr go crazy and suspend many many accounts. They obviously knew about all of these accounts but they had the benefit of fake social proof so far. When it gets too public they have to act to satisfy Google, etc. They did it very recently.
  • This trick don't work anymore
  • that trick was really amazing... thanks a lot for sharing.
I just tried the trick it is still working.

  • I totally thought I was going to see Brendon Burchard for a minute.

This is a good tactic that I was using a few months ago, but not sure how resilient it will be.
  • Thanks for sharing but tumblr does not keep my posts, they get deleted do not know why. :-(

    • In my video I don't say you should post. Watch it and see how you are re-posting other peoples blogs.

Also, feel free to use the links I have left you all.

  • It's quite possible that I am missing something here, but doesn't one have to be logged in to access Tumblr blogs? i.e. they are not publicly viewable.
If that's the case, do they carry any SEO weight?

Interested to hear what anyone else thinks on this...
It'll also be intersting to see for how much longer Tumblr tolerates it.

  • I never used tubmlr and I am definitely going to try this technique
  • thanks netdawg, was never aware of this

and @sdzh no, you can just visit tumblr blogs without logging in (but to do this trick you have to have an account though)
  • Mmm hmm. Got it.
Thanks for the clarification and glad that I was wrong!
    Nice little SEO trick, this.

  • The likes are nofollow, but the reblogs are dofollow

I just got this video in the mail today
5 Minute Backlinks - Proven Method How You Can Easily Get Hundreds Of PR5 And Higher Do-Follow Backlinks,In Just 5 Minutes From Now,Even If You Are A Rank Newbie...

It explains the method and a software to automate it. did any one try it?

    seems interesting though
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • You beat me to it) Likes are indeed nofollow, but reblogs are "dofollow". And for people who have scrapebox: use the tumblr footprint and harvest some URL's. I got myself a PR 7 and a bunch of PR6's
    • I think my video is much better... lol

What are backlinks - How to get PR6 Backlinks

Please please please watch the video before you make a comment.

A like is NO FOLLOW a reblog is FOLLOW.

    • It seems you first have to like before your reblog shows up on there page. The like is nofollow, the reblog is dofollow.
  • If a site has a bunch of PR 0-1 links it's probably safe to make sure we don't suddenly show PR 6-7 links. I'd keep them at PR3-4. Also, I'm certain these links won't hold for more than a couple of months. Am testing on a few sites.
  • Method dead?
  • Why do you say 'method dead'? hardly is it
  • I only came across this a few days ago and tried it with one Tumblr account. I basically did all the above but had trouble finding high PR sites to link back from (thanks for links Rob), however my issue is reblogging gives you a lot of crap on your own Tumblr and ultimately as with anything content rules and so better to have a proper Tumblr with proper content than just putting a few keywords as your post? But then I don't really want a load of irrelevant reblogs on my Tumblr......I can see why the method works in theory but feel it will be cracked down on by Google and Tumbr shortly in any case so better building Tumblr sites with proper content at the start and try and like and reblog from a few relevant Tumblr sites (if you can find them).
  • yeah this method might be abused by now...as everything that works and is free usually gets abused quickly....however..if you just make your post all legit and not spam then it works and you can get some sweet backlinks.
  • I saw this and have posted on Tumblr as recommended in this short video. Here is what I found out...

As others have mentioned, you can create links, but SeoQuake shows those links as no-follow links in my system. I am new enough that I am not sure if this makes a huge difference for SEO juice or not and I have read differing opinions on the matter.

Again, as already mentioned, if you reblog the high PR post, you get the same link and that one does not show up as a no-follow link in SeoQuake.

So, what I did was posted "liked it" on PR pages of say 4 or less and reblogged pages with a PR of 5 or higher.

Now when I look at the most influential backlinks to my site in Market Samurai as pulled from MajesticSEO, two of the top five backlinks show as coming from Tumblr.

I hope this is helpful to those who want to give this a try.

    All the best.
  • Now I can create a list of poor folks from this thread and can shoot PMs to milk them easily! :p

I believe Tumblr has changed this so you can't do it anymore.. the trick is now outdated
  • Tumblr "Likes/Reblogs" are no longer Dofollow. I just checked it out with SeoQuake. However, website links in YouTube videos are also Nofollow but still valuable backlinks in my opinion.
