Using Fiverr and others to purchase backlinks... Good Idea?

I have considered "buying" some fiverr.com offers to provide backlinks from high PR sites and also .edu sites..

Can these be useful or beneficial or will this just a forum spammer posting garbage and tarnishing my site's reputation.

I know the obvious answer is "if it was this magic bullet everyone would do it"

Any suggestions? Ideas , Comments?

I personally use Fiverr from time to time, this help when you have multiple, easy ranking websites. I tend to purchase things I cannot do/do not want to do by myself, such as .edu backlinks, mass forum profile, mass tweeting, etc.
Test various offers and try to figure out what your website is missing, credibility (.edu), longtail keywords (forum profile), social, etc.
Check at the seller's rating and comments, and when you find a good gig, make sure you bookmark it, it worth it's weight of gold.

    Hope this help.

There's nothing wrong with buying backlinks from fiverr or elsewhere. Outsourcing SEO is not uncommon at all and can be very effective. Of course the hard part is finding the right workers. If the worker had a good reputation then by all means go for it.

From what I have seen and heard, the links are usually from forums, and then only tend to stick for a few months. So if you really track the backlinks, and keep buying packages, it might work.

However, since most people charge more for similar services, I find it difficult to believe that I can really get 1,000 links (I see that a lot) that are good and relevant for just $5.

I bought 15 .edu backlinks and guess what. These turned out to be comment spam. One link was placed on a blog post that already had 7,000 outgoing links. I also bought a list of thousands of edu blogs where I can post comment myself, but after checking out 5-6 sites I gave up. I can give you that list for free.
I also bought a single homepage link on PR3 site that month later dropped to PR2. It's still good, because it's a relevant link.

It is really difficult to find gems on fiverr. I use them for article writing only, since I can edit the articles fully before I post. But I would not suggest buying backlinks for money sites from there as most of them are repeatedly spamming the same sites again and again. More of a spam than being useful.

Go with only real backlinks from real websites... All those scripts that create forum profiles, stats backlinks, etc are all JUNK... I don't think it will hurt your site but it won't do you a bit of good.

I have used fiverr for backlinks. Lets say not good. The links lasted about a week and were gone. Getting the links posted to the right page of a high PR site is more important when it comes to link juice. Not just spamming a site with your post. You will pay more but use a reputable company for backlinks.

I use fiverr more for my graphics like headers on wordpress sites and they do have some good artist.

Articles so long as you let them know the way you want them written. I have bought a couple that were very good and completely SEO freindly. Which was so cool. I contacted Aaron of SpinRewriter and found a good company for articles check out proarticlewriting.com. Excellent articles and affordable.

Like anything in SEO your success on Fiverr depends on how you use it.

I've spent over $3k on Fiverr for just about anything under the sun (from making logos for my blog network sites to getting content on the cheap).

If you buy link pyramids, wheels and hexagons then you're obviously not going to get very far.

Actually, SEOMoz recently posted a post about some creative ways to use Fiverr for white hat link building: 7 Fiverr Gigs for In-house SEOs - YouMoz | SEOmoz

Good point Brian. Fiverr is great for outsourcing tasks that take up time or are pretty mundane. The problem is most people think a Link Pyramid will solve all their SEO problems. Unfortunately, that takes more skill and brain power - something you can't buy off Fiverr.

I have personally experienced some really great results (and unfortunately some bad as well) with many Fiverr gigs. here is one tip - when doing a search , you will see the default will say sorted by 'AUTO' - I find if you sort by 'RATING', you will at least see the top related gigs. Read their feedback and judge for yourself!

The thing is with fiverr is it is such a big place that you can't really give one answer as to whether it is effective for outsourcing seo etc.
There are more specialized sites out there for seo but I guess the problem is trust...plus you have to be willing to risk a bit of money upfront until you find a decent provider.

When it comes to SEO, low cost is usually a sign of crap.

Nobody in their right mind is going to do quality SEO for free, $5 is basically free.

Don't anyone bother saying things like the cost of living is low in some countries. If a guy is living in a hut 90 clicks south of the border, he probably isn't going to give a $hit If your mesothelioma web page is ranking in Google SERPs (would you care?).

LOLzz.... That's true. Such low prices definitely gives the idea of Low Quality spammy links. People should think for themselves, what good is anyone going to provide you in mere $5.

I used fiver in the past on an experimental site and never saw anything good from it. I ordered from gigs with great reviews, various types of packages, and for me it was a waste of money.

However, I'm not going to recommend staying away from it. I didn't really spend that much money, nor do I really know what I'm doing when it comes to SEO. Many people say that the links are "crap", but I'd imagine that their expectations are a little too high. These gigs cost $5, so naturally you will need a lot of them to get any type of result. And you also need to know wtf you're doing. Which like I said I don't, so I don't use fiver.

The thing is, its still a great place to find cheap labor. And many of these people overdeliver in their gigs. They will work for pennies. Which leads me to believe that if you CAN use it the right way, you can probably save a lot of money.

Not the way I outsource SEO, but I'm definitely not going to recommend against it.

if you pick the right ones you cant go wrong. Five dollars can be a bargain nut it can be a waste of time and money. read the reviews, when you find one that works, use them again and again.

The effectiveness of Fiverr gigs completely depends on what your site and niche are, what you are promoting, and what someone needs to do to put money in your bank account (just visit, click something, newsletter or site sign up, pay one time, pay monthly, etc).

I've taken a friend's (adult) site from <100 to 3,000 uniques a day in less than 30 days (very few gigs allow adult stuff, be very sure to check if you try this), making money daily too. Traffic started to drop because of something else we did (added another offer), then we undid but traffic didn't come back. Got a package on fiverr, and it helped.

Non-adult sites, I would not recommend any of the large numbers of low quality links ever. .

If you are familiar with the link wheel or link pyramid - MAKE one. Don't buy one. A handful of people on Fiverr very much do know what they are doing with these, but only YOU know your site as well as you do... so you should make the initial pyramid.

The social media gigs (check reviews), and generally most gigs with USA seller (read profile - they may not actually be US based...), where someone is manually adding very few quality social bookmarks and links should do just fine. If you don't want to take a risk with the site, set up a tumblr or several social media profiles and send traffic to those.

Get gigs that manually add (semi-)targeted backlinks - 5 or 10 of these is better than 10,000 spam links.

The very best gigs on fiverr though tend to be creative - logo designs for quick one-off promos or minisites, voiceovers, youtube videos - you can find extremely high quality stuff if you spend some time sorting and reading everything.

Note: watch out for inactive sellers. Yes, you can get a refund but this research takes time so why waste yours?

Check the date of the last purchase and comment.

Look at the negative reviews even if there are only a few
, see what the issue may be. Sometimes one bad review will let me know that an author's English is not very grammatically correct.

I've found extremely niche-targeted links, creative gigs, and people who know their stuff on Fiverr it just takes time to find these awesome sellers.

For only $5 I'll sell you my list of top Fiverr gigs.... Kidding.
