well, i don't know why you need backlinks on alexa . alexa not related to google algorithm. Alexa gathers information from the users of their toolbar. If none of the Alexa toolbar users visited any of the sites that has back-links pointing to your site, Alexa does not know it exists. This is the biggest problem with Alexa since the number of internet users actually using Alexa toolbar is not enough to cover all niches and all interests.

Instead of checking your links in Alexa check your links in Google Webmaster tool or you can use yahoo site explorer to explore your links. Both of these show quite comprehensive data about links. You can also use backlinkwatch(dot)com

Alexa doesn't update links regularly and just having backlinks , doesn't mean that Alexa will count them.

They have their own algoritm, I would say traffic matter much more to Alexa than backlinks.

    simply don't worry about it

and in addition you can use SEO spyglass to analyze your backlinks, even the link value, its dofollow or not, etc

Don't waste your time with Alexa for any reason.

The data doesn't mean much, and ESPECIALLY for checking backlinks.

I'd recommend using Yahoo Site Explorer, it can be used in browser and is free and also where many tools pull their backlinks anyways.

I've got several websites that have good Alexa rankings, some as good as sub 100k. The problem is that my sites that receive less than 100 visits a day are in the sub 100k, while my sites that receive 5k+ visits a day are 250k give or take.

Now, why is that? Simply because the niches of the sub 100k are internet marketing (where more people have the Alexa toolbar installed, and the 250k+ aren't). Why rely on that kinda data?

Yahoo Site Explorer is a waste of space now and using it will give you the wrong idea. Majestic SEO and Open Site Explorer give a much clearer and up fresher view of your current links.

Alexa links are useful - if you are buying aged high PR domains. I wouldn't rely on it for competition analysis though.

If you are sure that the links you have created exists, there is no need to confirm it through third party websites. If you really want to count the number of backlinks, find a service that is actually dedicated for the same. I use backlinkwatch.

You can check your backlink through SEO spy glass, alexa is just waste of time and efforts. backlink watch and yahoo site explorer are another option if you want to see your backlinks

The indexing of Alexa is one of the slowest you can ever find.. if your site have 1000 links, it will merely show you 50 to 60 and that even after several days

It takes months for your backlinks to be shown on Alexa but that's not really important. Google doesn't rely on Alexa stats.

Depends how long they take to show up, they might not show up at all if the forums are no-follow.
Use a mixture of sites to build backlinks and not just forums.
I use angela n paul backlinks to find dofollow forums which show up as backlinks pretty fast in Yahoo.

generally,it takes a long time for alexa to count the backlink you make, so it always count the previous data and takes some time to update the data. wait for some time and i am sure that they will count you

No tool that will give you an exact number of backlinks, not Yahoo site explorer, not Alexa and not Google Webmasters. But that doesn't mean that the links are not there. They are just not showing.

Alexa only shows the links from the sites which is already on alexa
and it takes time to show up on alexa backlinks
