After the 10/13 Panda update that affected many of us has anyone seen any change in your rankings (positive direction) for those affected sites by building any particular types of links? Any type that seem to be working better right now compared to other types?

Nope. Ignore anyone who tells you that certain backlinking methods have took a hit, it's simply not true. Websites of all sizes, ages, niches and backlinking methods have took a hit and improved.

Keep doing what you've been doing, except ensure you're providing quality content at all times.

Can't say in particularly for the Oct 13th update but you are seriously delusional if you think that certain kinds of links have not taken a hit this year. Several sites have gotten emails from Google as has been well reported and the emails specifically state that the sites in question have been penalized for spam links.

As topic is referring to the specific October 13th update, does it not make sense that you take my comment in relation to this date too? Bloody hell Michael, get with it

Agreed. Content is King and stick to a good broad spectrum of quality link building strategies.

Contextual, anchored links from relevant content - just like it's always been - but probably now more than ever.

Is a service like Build My Rank an effective strategy to implement right now on top of the other types of backlinks? As far as unique content that is not an issue. I am might just not sure which path to take right now since sites I have with thin content/weak backlinks profile moved up while sites with much more content and better backlinks profile dropped.

What do you guys suggest in my situation with my sites?

Everything works as well as before really although that being said it was one of the more weird updates. Google rocketed some quite weak sites up to number 1 and plenty which used "White hat" methods tanked.

Like most updates we would expect to see some roll back. You should justmake sure content is good, keep getting diversity in backlinking methods and anchor text variations and you should be fine.

A natural backlink is undoubtedly the best link for Google. After the Panda update it seems all the blasts and automated link building are now devalued by Google. ( this is based on my experience).

Actually no search engine algo can understand if a backlink is "natural" or automated/outsourced.

But they can see if it is a quality backlink or not.

I wouldn't be trying to make sense of the latest panda update, this 'mini' update was a train wreck.

Just keep adding all kind of backlinks. Auto or manual. Do not listen to people saying that backlinks can hurt or that they are useless.

    All backlinks are good.

Try to create diversity in your backlink profile and it will look more "natural"

The best way to get natural links it to creat linkbait through great content then users will link to you off their own back and that is really "natural" in Googles eyes.

Not yet and i think its not a big deal to worry for if you have always worked with original and quality contents. It is made for restricting duplicate contents so not to worry if you have no duplicate contents with you.

Contextual links from your unique content still works after the Panda update. Just make sure that your content looks relevant and readable to the visitors..and gives value too.

You can build links anywhere you want but it needs to be done manually and if you are submitting content that it has to be unique. Building links naturally will always help no matter what policy Google follow

i do think google will never effect the nature backlinks added.if you insist on posting quality content in site and make a good use of social bookmarking sites and article marketing method.I think you will kepp good SERP still.or if you feel it is down after the update, you'd better to write some good relevant article to get it back.

Does it really work? Even article sites and PR publishing sites have been extremely hit by the update.
