just wondering..
is it better to use the "to" or "in" when using a keyword for anchor text or does google ignore it?
ie.. dogs in boston vs dogs boston...
common sense tells me they are 2 different words but i see insearch results the "in" isnt highlighted so does that mean its unnecessary

dogs in boston repeated 20 times in an article sounds much better than dogs boston..but im not sure the seo value ..

any experts here know if it makes a diff?

I would only use combination of the phrases you want to rank for. Here is an example. Say my main keyword is "backlink list". Then I would use variations.

    Best backlink list
    premium backlink list
    backlink list for sale
    and so on.

If you look at the above examples then you can see that the phrase backlink list is in everyone of the examples. So to answer your question more precisely use the phrase that you are trying to rank for. I hope this helps. Google will recognize that.

im not sure if im explaining correctly.
    is
    "Best backlink list compton"
    "premium backlink list compton"
    "backlink list for sale comptom"
the same as or different in broad / phase & exact match to
    "Best backlink list in compton"
    "premium backlink list in compton"
"backlink list for sale in comptom"

    does "in" carry weight?
    thx

better not to use either of the two. there are rules in choosing your anchor text. search online for better used/rules in anchor text. Using that stuff is also fine. I think you prefer nouns when using that. Kindly read more on that.

Definately vary your anchor text but I have had success with using exact search terms. So, yes use the "to" or "in" if that is in the exact search term.
