1st Panda update - no effect.

2nd Panda update - my site actually boosted in rankings

Oct 14 Panda - my site lost about 60-70% of traffic due to drop in rankings

Yesterday my number of visitors was back to before the Oct 14 update, I hope Google did a double check on that last update and made some changes and that the numbers/visitor/rankings continue to go back up again.

Also on another note, as my number of visitors went down, my adsense earnings sort of went up (ecpm wise)

well that's my rambling for the day.

  • these recent changes were terrible, lost many of my keywords and traffic dropped 40%...end of the world! backlinking doesn't seem to work anymore.
  • Ofcourse, When ever there will be a panda update, there will be a drop in rankings, My site which was ranking at 45 position was suddenly ranked in 1000's for even 2 weeks, and now its back to my previous position.

Can any body suggest the best and effective way to improve the SERPS?
  • When there is a panda update there is a drop in rankings. That is only true for some. It's been said many times if one stie goes down another will go up to replace it.

    • What you describe is EXACTLY what has happened with 3 of my sites.

There is no relation between the 3 of these sites (tbey are on different servers, use different code, are in different niches) except for the age and SERP ranking of the sites: they all have (had) good strong rankings for key terms and plenty of content, all entirely original.

I had cloaked affiliate links in the header of one, which I removed. That made no difference. Aside from that they are certainly not affiliate thin sites.

My newer 6 or 7 sites have all increased in ranking, whereas before this update they were plodding along.

Google was doing strange stuff for about 1 month before this update. Traffic on my big sites wasn't increasing, despite extra content and more backlinks being produced.

Traffic on my smaller, newer sites was tottering along at unusually low levels despite the fact they had good backlinks and content.

So what you guys are saying is that your traffic has been restored since last night?

I didn't notice anything happen yet but what you say gives me some hope.
  • My site lost all its Google rankings after the last update and it hasn't returned back to normal yet, unfortunately.

  • I think so, since some of my sites drooped in ranking...
  • I still have sites that plummeted and others that plummeted then recovered. My advice? Keep building quality links consistently. All of my sites that plummeted and recovered slowly all had quality links built to them daily.

Also, work on making your site the best you can to serve your visitors, too. You want to be able to either answer their query or be able to route them to the best possible place that can.
  • Go for and check the activities that you have preformed with on your website, you might have used any black activity as to why all this took place.....
