Hello,

has anybody tested if getting backlinks to backlinks really does any good in terms of ranking your website higher in the search engines?

Why not just get relevant, authority baclinks directly to the page you wish to rank and stick with that?

Thanks

Hey rosesmark, you can usually find relevant blogs in networks like UAW, MAN, AR, ALN and the alikes. But these are a bit expensive (at least in my case)

Or, you can go to Google and search for blog pages that accept comments and do some blog commenting. If your comment is good (ie. NOT generic, and if it provides value) it will most often than not get accepted and you will get a high value, highly relevant backlink to the URL you want (don't forget to type in the URL when you post your comment, or else you won't get any benefit out of your comment)

Just yesterday I finished finding at least 10-15 high PR PAGES (not domains, but pages with PR of 2-5) for each of the 7 websites I have that I can post comments to. Now all I have to do is just read what's written on those 100 pages or so and give an honest, valuable comment.

You can use many variations of search strings to find relevant, high PR pages that you can comment on. Just make sure you use Mozila Firefox as your browser because you need the SEO Quake plugin. This plugin only works with Firefox (in fact, Firefox is the best browser for internet marketers) and it will instantly tell you the Page Rank of any page you want, without you having to manually check the PR for each page individually.

The strings you can use to find these pages are varied, but I usually use something like this:

inurl:KEYWORD -"sign in to comment" "leave a comment"
intitle:KEYWORD -"you must be logged in to comment" "post a reply"
inurl:KEYWORD -"sign in to comment" "add comment"
intitle:KEYWORD -"log in to comment" "speak your mind"

etc, etc. There are many combinations you can try, and each time you will find new pages.

Just make sure you replace KEYWORD with the keyword you wish to find blogs for - weight loss, money, self improvement, etc. Also make sure you type a broad keyword, not a long tail one as commonly, there are fewer pages related to your keywords that you can comment on. should your keyword consist of 3+ words

Using the above search strings you can find a lot of WP blogs that you can comment on. There are probably more options but this is what came to mind at a first try

scrapebox is SPAM, and I'm not into spamming. There's plenty of it floating around anyway.

Besides, Google is desperately fighting spam and spammers and for good reason. I too don't like searching for something into Google and finding low quality sites, filled with ads, 1000's of "thanks for sharing this great info" and "great post, keep'em coming!" type of comments. Such comments are made by tools like Scrapebox, which posts one gazillion billion trillion million comments all on autopilot on another gazillion million pages with high PR at the click of a button (devalue-ing them all and making the whole internet a garbage bin)

            Please ....

              Slow down a littel...

First of all comment like one you mentioned before are stupid comments and for my opinion they should delete them even we talk about non moderated blog, using spin article and a littel reading you can make some great comments

2nd of all make some of your action automated this not mean spam this is just time management and since time is money I thing you must use it with care

3rd I'm talking a way to harvest blogs and Scrapebox can help you out with that, and decrease your time spending on finding blogs

4rd you can use this tool as a manula poster and in this way the wested time when you copy paste link between your list and the browser, the time spend rewriteing your name, url, email (and this are the same for all your post)... And then write the comment manually. I dont thing if there a way to automate non important process I can not see why not use it.

Yes you can also use scrapebox as a spam tool, but this is not necesary. And here I'm not talking only about scrapebox there are many other program that can help you even if you do not whant to make spam.

Do not take it personally but this is what I thing, I experince, I study. There are many tools out there that can help automate your SEO process and there are not spam tools, and if you do not find one you can always start to create one.

              Thank you

Well, if what you're saying is true (I've never used Scrapebox) than I apologize for misunderstanding its use. But then I am thinking, if this is such a powerful tool and it does all these "amazing" things, what would stop people from using it to spam the hell out of anything and everything, once they got it? Nothing

                Cheers!

    Indeed they do!

Backlinking your backlinks not only helps index your backlinks but it puts more juice through the links to your page.

When you backlink a backlink you are essentially strengthening your first layer backlinks which helps your rankings.

This is called tiered backlinking, basically like a link-wheel.

Ensure your backlinks are good quality though.

Some people get away with creating high quality first level backlinks and then pushing lower quality backlinks to these.

Does it help having backlinks to your backlink? It does help. If you create 100 backlinks, You will have roughly around 40 links indexed. Which means 60 quality links you create will be useless. But, if you build backlinks to these 100 links they become stronger and transfers more link juice to your money site. I really support this idea of building backlinks to backlink.

    Hi monere,

    You can do just that.

Bear in mind that the only reason "authority backlinks" have authority is because of those backlinks to their backlinks.

Why not do both? Whether or not they 'matter' is a matter of opinion, no pun intended, however the motivation behind sending links to links is usually an increased rate/amount of successful crawling and indexation.

Lol, you're all saying the same thing. Well, it's clear then. Multiple levels of backlinking is the way to go

But then I have one more question. If backlinks to backlinks are a good thing to do, it would mean that the more leveled your linkwheel/pyramid/whatever the stronger your first level backlinks will be. But, is this really the case? Will Googlebot be able to find backlinks so deep in the pyramid (at level 20, for example) and pass PR through all those levels? Or I should stick to a certain number of levels? What is that number?

When you are building blog backlinks and especially forum profile backlinks you can backlinks the first layer to get it indexed, because a high number of links just do not get indexed at all and your manual backlinking efforts or investments are wasted.

The second way is to use the pyramid structure backlinking. You can use articles from quality directories, web 2.0 properties or when you can get high pr pages from blogs or websites then this would be golden as the first layer.
Second layer in the pyramid would be one of the options from the first layer(articles, web2.0, high pr blog/website pages) and the third layer would be forum and blog backlinks. And if you cannot index the forum/blog backlinks any other way you can build backlinks to this link list as well.

I usually suggest no more than three layers when you are using the pyramid structure.

If your backlink do not have back link, this page may have low value. Google will not index it, or will deindex it after sometime. With the backlink to your backlinks, your backlink will have more power and this will help your site increase search engine ranking.

Backlinks to Backlinks ...Work Superb...There is lot of value for this in google eye..

When You get Backlinks to Backlinks it is Called tiered backlinking..

      Here is the Example :-

Tier -1 :- Web 2.0 (main website Link)

Tier-2 :- Article Submission Links (With Web 2.0 Link)

Tier-3 :- Social Bookmarking Links (With Article Submission Links )

This is Backlinks to Backlinks ...Here in tier 2 Web 2.0 Links Indexed Very fast

Tier -3 Article Submission Links Indexed Very fast...

So Backlinks To Backlinks is Superb.

      Thanks.
