I am trying to do a link wheel for my site and i discovered that many of the web 2.0 sites aren't indexed by google despite after four days of creating the link wheel. So, would it be right if i start link building that way, won't i be losing the links especially when the search engine has not indexed my web 2.0 properties.

Ya that's perfectly fine as long as your linking the correct URLs.

Building links early doesn't mean that they "won't work" once you launch the site. For all Google knows the site could be temporarily down for an update.

Do try and get the site up as soon as you can though after you begin building links. EVEN if its a simple landing page.

Alright, really appreciate Revseo. I have been waiting for days to ensure my post/blog on web 2.0 can be found on the search engine before blasting my links. Thanks for the information.

Before doing any major linking, I would wait till the page gets indexed. Do a few social book marks first, just a few maybe five or six. You should be indexed within a few hours of doing that. Then set up your link wheel and what ever other stuff you want to do.

Remember it is best to do the links on a steady basis, not a one time blast. Something I always have a hard time with as back linking is so boring. That is why I like to use Fiver.com for much of it. But there is only so much money.

Timpears, ordinarily it is better for a site to be indexed before one start pushing back links, i will try to ping and send them to rss feed aggregator and also bookmark them.

    Thanks.

Ok, I finally caved and googled Web 2.0 after years of just skimming passed this term. Now I know and have to ask, what is with the 'label'??? Since when have websites not been interactive? Wow!

Sorry this is a little off-topic, but is it really necessary to label your sites as Web 2.0?

OP, while waiting your backlink being indexed.

I suggest you to power them up by pinging them or build some easy links on them.
So more and more link juice will flow.

And you're fed up with the slow index, just bookmark 'em.

Also, building links for a site that haven't indexed is not a bad idea.
Just don't get them indexed until your site did.

All you need is the page that you are linking to to be indexed. When you are talking about link building, many times links are the reasons that deeper pages get indexed. This is why your internal linking structure is so important. I would not suggest that you go out and build 5000 links to a site that has not been submitted to Google. I am not sure if it would hurt you or not. There are many people that build sites and know nothing of SEO or submitting sites, but they still may provide very useful information that people would link to before Google gets a chance to crawl it.

    Hi there,

If you want your web 2.0 site to be index quickly submit it to high pr social bookmarking sites such as digg or stumbleupon. I have done an experiment with this many times already and I can say its really effective if you want to index your web 2.0 site or any other websites.

I would NOT build links before the site you are linking to is indexed

Its a big red flag for google
they certainly had to be unnatural links after all, who would link to you if your site is not up yet? I would wait until the site is indexed THEN SLOWLY start building links

Check your contents whether they might have copied from other source. No need to stop link building.
