Howdy People,

Just a quick not , to say how powerfull Reddit is. After a hour of posting a minor article in a small reddit (1200 Readers.) I have had over 125 hits.

Just to say if I did this in a bigger sub reddit , how many Views I could get. Potentially millions if you tried.

Just to show , I've attached a picture

  • That's great.

I've had a lot of success with StumbleUpon but never Reddit.

You do have an extremely hot topic for your website though! I'm sure that's the key factor here.
  • Interesting.

I'm assuming these sites reward being active constantly before they give out?
  • There's a lot of potential on sites like Reddit, Digg, Stumbleupon or even Youtube. Too many people focus on Google alone but if they made an equal effort on some of those sites they'd get crazy traffic. It's not really high quality traffic but it's not bad either.

    • Can anyone share what techniques they use with sites like Reddit. Are you talking about straight forward bookmarking with these sites in a effort to drive more traffic to your sites.

      Thanks
  • Some people do really underestimate the power of such sites as Reddit. It can be an excellent help in any SEO campaign that you set up.

Get Scaling it up now man! Think of what 100 articles can bring you

    • Amazing that this technique isn't applied by more people to all thees sites. They are read and if done properly can have a lot of power. Hopefully you are using this in conjunction with Facebook to get it viral and drive more traffic.

  • Yes with these sites, you can get traffic and backlink to your site.
  • Well, I know that on Digg people team up to push something to the front page. There are even forums where they plan their actions.
  • I use Reddit, Digg and StumbleUpon. It gives good results for me.

  • I've been using Reddit and it does give decent traffic but it is only short-lived since your links will be buried due to the overwhelming deluge of links.
  • Reddit can be a goldmine if you know what you're doing. I see many people posting spammy links without proper description/title. Unfortunately, that doesn't work.

If you want to get traffic, you got to do it the smart way. Use catchy titles, interesting descriptions and don't spam. Success!
  • Make sure you write link bait and not some boring 300 word outsourced and crap article if you're going to submit to Reddit.

    • Very good point. The best thing about being a Reddit member is that the crap gets downvoted fast. However, link bait for the sake of link bait will be spotted pretty quickly and turn the noses of a lot of the residents. If the article has value it is a fantastic way to improve its reach.
  • Never really bothered with Reddit. May give it a bash as it looks like it's got potential to scale up for mass traffic.

    • I'd a sponsored link once in the cooking/recipes sub-reddit. It didn't have enough traffic though.

    • Infact most of them engaged with my blog and posted comments , I would rather have that then no visits at all. At the time , I had no Adsense. Plus Google see it as Social media and can resort in a rankings boost.
  • Digg use to do the same thing, the power of social media can create a spike in traffic, but my experience is that they are looky-lous and don't typically convert to sales.
