What is the Best Link Building Strategy After Panda?

For quite some few months now, i realize that a couple of my site lost their ranking on the search engines for all my keywords. Where i use to sit on position 4 i have now moved to 13th position and where i use to be on position 8 i now moved to 30 and so on.

Recently, i was reading a post here that says article marketing is a bloody waste of time and i see reasons too because every article post you make goes to a pr 0 site, what the hell should i be doing with article marketing.

I just need the list of the best link building strategy to apply at this time.

Thanks so much.

My site went from being on page 4 to page 30, and now is stable on page 10. Which means that I get ZERO traffic.

I would like to know what possible link strategies there are also that work? I have other sites that I have no backlinks for, and rank on the first page because of the unique content alone.

Sadly the days of inexpensive off page seo are behind us. Panda just upped the ante for off page seo costs. Doing whats working now is spendy - so best start picking your niches well and be ready to invest in the long term.

Wow! I mean this deadly serious and not an ounce of sarcasm but if Steve (if I have the name wrong it is not intentional) says this then I am now fully onboard that Panda has in fact affected linkbuilding (which I have been seeing myself for awhile)

Could not agree more. I believe that SEO use to be expensive in terms of our time. No longer is that the case.

SEO is now expensive in terms of dollars. I have used press releases time and time again to almost instantly dominate Ultra HARD niches, such as SEO.

The strategy with press releases is not hard. You simply need to write a good press release, pay prweb.com $200 to publish it, and you greatly increase your chances of getting into Yahoo news, Google news, and industry publications.

    Hey,

The best course of action are high PR backlinks (and I don't mean forum links, profiles and other "so called" high PR links). I mean ACTUAL high PR links with in-content anchor text from authority websites.

Backlink strategies really depend on the competition and there isn't a "one size fits all" method here. You'll need to work on building high PR links as well as a mixture of social links (i.e. twitter and facebook).

Article marketing still works - you just have to persevere with it and work on writing high quality articles. Drip feeding seems to work well.

With all the changes to Google with the Panda updates, the main focus now has to be on high quality content on and off your site (and lots of it!).

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
    Eleanor

Same as it was a year ago.

    1) Quality external links.

    2) Quality internal links.

Multiple services offer this, you can flat out buy domains that already have them, You can do guest blogging and you can syndicate even press releases. There is however no place where you can just log in and drop your links except unmoderated blog commenting and those get so over run when you find them you might find it better to actually leave coherent thoughtful comments on moderated blogs.

Mike, are you able to PM me with your contact email? (sorry not up to post limit yet) I was wondering if you could take a look at one of my sites and help me along a bit. If you could I would be so grateful. Cheers.

        Anyway..

I think a lot of people out there or on this forum know of the best place to get good quality links but can't afford them initially.

So what do they do? Take the easy way out (which I am guilty of) and subscribe to lower cost methods that will probably make them money for a while before it all comes crashing down. It's sort of like a catch 22 in that regard.

Of course there are manual, cheaper ways out there to get good quality backlinks but the results take longer and because so many people are after instant gratification it's hard to sell.

Instant gratification and SEO are opposed to each other. If people want instant gratification theres adwords.

Let me let them in on a tip. Anything that is too easy and cheap will never be good for very long. If its cheap and easy 12 year olds will be doing it, the lazy will be doing it, the guy down the street would be doing it and soon no one will be making money. Everyone here looking for easy and free forgets one thing. If it were both the competition would be everyone and that would make it hard again.

Thats exactly what happens with blog comments, profiles etc. Everyone fires up scrapebox, uses the same old easy footprints to find blog comment sites and then they all hammer away until the sites get shut down or so diluted you have to go find another set of sites to devour

Seriously its this idea of cheap and quick that got Google after us with Panda in the first place.Want it quick then go out an d buy some High pr links individually or on SEO network services. Want free or cheap then be prepared to work. Want both? Too bad. Sooner or later people have to realize they live in a real world not Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Play time is over. Seo is now for people who want to treat their business like its a real business.

Of course! You obviously have a lot of passion (read: annoyance regarding the whingers) about the subject Mike and it shows in your posts.

Regardless we as humans are always going to look for the path of least resistance. It's especially hard for newbies to really know what to do when they first come into the industry.

If so and so is making money from having 20 million profile links fired at his site then it is likely the newbie would follow and follow suit. Same as the newbies losing their shirts in Adwords.

As I said though, I completely agree with your post. The analogy I like to think of is from the movie "Catch Me If You Can" where Frank is continually bypassing the qualifications needed for the jobs and positions he impersonates.

He manages to fool everyone in each of his fraudulent positions and live the high life for a while, but eventually it catches up with him and he must find some other way to game the system.

Anyway, I've been doing this for a few years now and it is only recently that I've seen the light, or rather Google made me stand up and smell the roses of what I already knew anyway but pushed to the back of my mind.

There's no point fighting against them especially if you want to make money from them.

The internet is significantly less gameable than it was 10 years ago and it will only get more stringent.

Yep not trying to hide either I think they do a lot of harm to newbies that are willing to do things that work

Great movie and great analogy but the part that really kicks is that Frank all the time is a brilliant guy that could have legally qualified for any of those jobs and probably more than one. I see alot of otherwise smart people get caught in IM and SEO that way. They teach themsellves SEo, do great keywords research spend time learning every in and out of automated linking tools and if you present them with some non push button shortcut strategy that really works they don't want to hear it because its not a push button technique.

As the panda update in jan ,2011 , after that provide the quality content be the necessary . And now recently in sep. in the last week panda update ,as per which it consider the traffic from the social network more for providing the result. So you should try to get more quality traffic to your site for the better result again. And with the social media you can use blogs , article , and videos the most for instant result.

Let me ask you this? Why do you think that Google is making these changes? They want to weed out the sites that are trying to build back links from the ones who naturally get back links because they're good. So what would people do if a site was good? Share it on Facebook, Twitter, on their blog, in a natural way. How often would a page rank 8 site just decide to link to yours? Probably never.

Content is still the key to an efficient link building, but great content is not enough, you need to market it and also have to assure that it’s of high relevance to its targeted audience. I still believe that article marketing still has its role in this modern marketing age, we just have to utilize it well.

Well, from my experience, article marketing works well even after Panda, on the other hand profile link building had lost its value as earlier. Apart from that, other methods are still rocking as usual, but article marketing (blogging and article submissions) really help a lot to boost the ranks nowadays,

The best strategy is to build high quality content and promote them . If you get links naturally this is the best. Otherwise links from a wide variety of sources , varying anchor text, links for brand name , mix of page rank.

Content is now the king of the kings! One's on-page optimization must be good enough in order to rank high!

P.S. Don't take the Panda seriously! It's not complete at all! I still see some sites ranking on page 1 of Google with duplicate content and a hell bunch of backlinks! Test as much as you can, enough said!
