Question about first page ranking

The thing is, when i tried to use rank checker add on for firefox, rank checker device or even traffic travis, they all said that my website is rank #13 for my main keyword. But today, when i manually typed my keyword to Google search, my website is rank #2. Then i used all the rank checker device again but they still said my website is #13??? So what's the different?

  • I have read of similar issues with people who check their rank in different web browsers.
    I don't think that this should happen in the first place but since it does, it means that there is something wrong.
    The first thing I noticed is that there is always a change or discrepancy in the search results if you are signed in or not.
  • If you were signed in to your Gmail then signed off so that you can see your ranking on #13. And also clearing your cache is a big help
  • Try to clear your browser's cache and log out of your Gmail account.
  • The search result shown by plugin might be country specific. For e.g., if you are from UK and checking the rankings in US search engine, then it is going to show you a big difference in rankings. It is always better to check the rankings manually, rather than checking them with the help of plugins.
