Secockpit results - no exact match?

So - what's with SEcockpit not pulling "exact" matches? So, basically the results are worthless?

Also, I can never pull just US results, always has to be global.

No - I know "worthless" is a bit strong, but I still have to look up each possible keyword - grr.

"exact match" is a term used when looking for keywords - so in Google adwords for instance if you enter the term book vs. "book" you will get two different search volumes. "Exact match" being a more precise measure of how many people are searching for that term in a month.

Just reading this again, I think this might be the source of your misunderstanding of the results.

      In GAKT, you have

      Broad Match
      [Exact Match]
      "Phrase Match"

Using your example of book, if you check the global monthly searches in GAKT, you get

      3,760,000,000 (broad match)
      101,000,000 (phrase match)
      1,220,000 (exact match)

Using SECockpit, it reports 1,220,000 global monthly searches, so it agrees.

Have you been looking at the phrase match results by accident?

SECockpit is working just fine and it does show exact matches out of the box.

    Here's a screenshot from Google AdWords Keyword Tool: 11.05.2011-16.20.48 - Sridhar's library

Here's a screenshot of the same keyword phrase from SECockpit ->
with Location set to US: 11.05.2011-16.22.08 - Sridhar's library
with Location set at default (All Countries and Territories): 11.05.2011-16.25.33 - Sridhar's library

    @housewarrior: It does.

@anibee: If you would like me to take a screencast, give me any keyword phrase and let me know. I didn't have to make any change in the settings other than selecting the region.

SECockpit has always worked just fine for me too, aniebee. Could you post some screenshots where it seems to be giving non exact match results?

I've got secockpit and it pulls exact match search results for me. And i've always got it to show US results as well, with no issues. Have you tried contacting their support? Could be a technical issue with your account.

    Hi guys,
About the program... Shane isn't the problem, nor the software. The $$ is. Ha. So, having used it for awhile, do you find that it's paying its way? Are you able to make the critical connections with SECockpit enough to justify having it, compared to pokey old Market Samurai, Keyword Elite, etc? I'd really like your insight.
    Thanks!!
    Norm

You can't even compare how much faster SECockpit is than MS... with MS you can only analyze one keyword at a time and SEC gives you 800 keywords, analyzes their competition, CPC value in couple of minutes...

It works very well. You can easily set it to show US search results. You just have to watch a tutorial I think. It's not hard to do.

Yes it does pull exact matches but it shows global exact matches.

As far as monthly cost is concerned, I have no clue why people trip out about monthly costs.

With the right strategy, you only need to pay for 1 month. 2-3 at mosts.

Secockpit allowed me to launch 30 sites in past 2 months and now I no longer need it because I'm happy with the amount of sites and information gathered.

Secockpit is faster for a part time marketer like myself and now I don't mind using the sluggish samurai for targeted research or expanding the sites.

What evidence do you have for this claim?

I've been using SECockpit since it was first released and can assure you that it has always used exact matches.

Additionally, you have always been able to select what country you want the results from.

I did a quick sanity check using the phrase "dog training" in SECockpit and Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

SECockpit & GAKT both report 74000 GMS and 40,500 LMS, ie: they both agree 100%

To clarify: all of the traffic volume data is taken from the Google Keyword Tool and we use exact match data as that's the only data that has any application to SEO.

If you don't select a specific territory on a new kw search, you'll get the global exact match search volume numbers. If you do select a specific territory or country, it will show the exact match local search volume for each keyword.

It's keyword research tool so no. You can do it with SEO Ranker plugin for Firefox etc..

No, it's better. Honestly. It doesn't have ranker stuff but keyword research is many many times faster...
