Hello Friends !

So, Recently noticed a PR change for several websites. Got PR 5 from PR 4 for Pure SEO. And most of internal pages have got PR 4 .

I don't bother much about PR, but just a feeling that things going better .

Whats at everyone else end?

All of my money sites went up, and all of my high PR network went down.

Lost a lot of $ worth of PR linkjuice today... gained a few PR money sites. But PR on my money sites I don't give a rats ass about, I only care about the PR of my links :\ arrrg frustrating days in google for me.

Does PR have any effect on ranking? What benefit(s) does having a higher PR provide?

No, even low PR sites score high in rankings, but it's definitely of importance if you're looking for quality backlinks. Many sites only exchange with similar PR's.

There is no benefit to PR. The only time PR ever matters is when you are selling links or domains.

PR is only very slightly related to actual rankings, and rankings are what really matters. You should be paying far more attention to where you site shows up in the SERPs than your PR.

It does, but not too much. Google looks for relevance. If you get a link from a relevant site to your site, even a PR0 link can make a huge difference.

However, if you get a relevant and high PR link and your site has no penalties, it can pretty much glue you to the first page.

Congrats for your site higher rank. But i have not get any pr update also for my site. And high page rank matter for many things like fresh content, quality backlinks, less outbound links, less bounce rate and high conversion rate. So if one can manage all the things better then can get the high page rank for the site.

My inner-pages went up, as far as PR. The downside is that one of my article sites went from a PR2 to a PR0.

I haven't checked the rest yet. It seems that some are up and some are down. I guess that's the way it always is.

Was shocked to see Google give me some PR love. Less than 3 month old domain with the site only being live for 5 weeks, the home page went from PR 0 to PR 3. Most of my inner pages are PR 2. Only 15 pages of content.

This is the first site that I've made a concerted effort to produce quality content and also stay away from using spammy low quality backlinks. My other sites with short articles and relatively mediocre content saw no increase in PR. My quality experiment seems to be paying off.

Last time Google got a PR9, it was quickly followed by a another major PR update within a few weeks.

I have to agree with this. We had the same thing happen last July. A lot of brand new sites with high PR jumps, Google and Facebook dropped to PR9 and then about a week later Google did another update to fix all the craziness.

My money is on another update pretty quick, probably next week.

Hello guys.. today something very unexpected happened .. my site its 4 months old or so.. and i had a page rank of 0 and today my page rank is 3.
i was not expecting that at all. can anyone explain how page rank is calculated ? i was under the impression i was going to need to pass from pr1 then 2 and so on..

So the summary of my questions..

    1) at what point in a new websites life does the pr appear if there is any ?
is it good that i got a 4 month site to pr3 ?

    2) my link building strategy was all manual and i generaly had around 850-1000 back links according to the Google web master tool. (althought i did purchase one dofollow link in a pr4 directory's home page.. and i good 4000 back links according again to web masters tool.. is that relevant to my pr3 suddenly appearing ?

One of my websites had a PR2 and still is PR 2 which I expected 3 or 4. It has top positions in many many high competition keywords and is an authority website and just from the backlinks (over 20,000) it should be PR 3 or PR 4. Also it has lots and lots of great quality and original content, an aged domain, SEO friendly structure and content and lots of High PR, do-follow, low OBL and also relevant backlinks. I am sure the PR is wrong and is somehow penalized but I can't figure out what penalized its PR. Also obvious reasons like selling links are not the reason because it doesn't sell links. Not a good sign at all so I don't like it and still wondering!!!
