Adwords, Low Quality Score: Poor KW Relevance

Adwords, has to be the most confusing, frustrating system I have ever had the misfortune of using.

One of my ads, which had a title of Electrician Bournemouth, and the landing page, has a title and h1 of Electrician Bournemouth (100% match).

The page contents also has the keyword in relevant places.

Another keyword in the same campaign, Electricians in Bournemouth has a Quality Score of 6 (no problems). This isn't in the H1, Title or even the page contents.

Can somebody explain to me, why logic is failing right now? Evidently there is a special Google Adwords code, that mere mortals don't know about, driving their CPC up.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

The only explanation I could think of would be keyword density if that even plays a part in the quality score.

I guess potentially it could be that the keyword with the higher score has been running longer since I have heard that the time a campaign has ran for counts towards your score.

A suggestion I can offer that I have seen help PPC quality scores is to add a terms of service and privacy policy to your page.

Hi multifactorguru, thanks for your input.

These keywords are both belonging to the same ad. Been there for the same length of time etc.

Also have a TOS and Privacy Policy.

We actually rank number 1 in the organic search for all these keywords too. So if it wasn't relevant in Google's eyes, why rank us.

Adwords has always baffled me /

    • I have found that the most important factor is CTR. Have you compared those two ads based on CTR?

I dont really have any to reccommend.. I just noticed a correlation of CTR and quality score with my clients.. It seems that the only ones that get any clicks ever get anything above a "low quality score"

I have seen this companies advertisement on Facebook tons of times and they have some good tips on this page
