My site reached PR3. Now what?

Hi, today I was checking my 3 months old mini website out and I noticed that the main page is now PR3.
I am almost sure that it was PR0 a few weeks ago, and now, all of a sudden, it's jumped up to PR3.
Hmmm...
My traffic is still the same and I haven't moved up in the SE rankings too. Actually I have a drop of 1 position on Google.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Why did my website become PR3? I haven't added any new content.
Is it because of the ~80 backlinks that I built manually?

2. How can I benefit from having a PR3 web site? I mean, PR3 is not much, I know, but it must be better than PR0, right?
I guess there should be some use of a higher page rank. What is it? Did the site's value increase on Flippa just because it's PR3 now?

Hi, PR has little to do with your position. Often you can find PR 0 outrank far higher PR sites for example.

One of my old sites also by itself got 2 PR - i did not do anything. Other people linked to it over time.

If you wrote good content maybe other people linked to you.

For your 2nd question I am not an expert.

1: Your home page went from PR 0 to PR 3 because Google recently updated Page Rank (PR).

      2: Many benefits.

You can gain by having a higher PR because it's a good indication to other webmasters, as well as Google that your site has some authority, and this increases the value of your site. Some people would actually pay to have a link on your PR 3 site. But probably more important is the fact that your other inner pages will benefit as a whole by having a high PR site.

Pagerank goes up if you make good backlinks from high PR sites. So maybe you made backlinks yourself or some high PR site linked to your site (yes it happens).

Higher PR sites are listed up in Serps and maybe you can benefit that way.

You got more PR by the incoming links that you have pointing to your site although this doesn't mean your rankings will go up at all.

If you had two exact same sites on flippa and the only difference was PR then the PR3 one would sell for more so I guess you could say it has increased in value....

if your PR increased but not your traffic, then it is normal.

PR has nothing to do with traffic. It is all just about quality of the backlinks to your site.

You can monetize your site with good PR, but a good PR does not give you any SEO advantage

So, it seems there's not much gain in having a PR3 site?
I mean, can't make money out of it?

If I try to sell a backlink, who is going to buy it?
Other people are offering many backlinks in a package for the same price.

Also, if somebody buys just that one backlink from me, where would be a good place to put it? Should I create a special page on my site, named "Links" or something?

If you want to increase the P.R on regularly basis, update the content regularly and increase the backlinks too.

The backlinks came from comments that I posted on blogs.
The domain age is 3 months.

OK, I will try to keep increasing my PR, but my question was: how can I monetize my high PR?
I want to make Money out of my PR3 page rank. And if it becomes PR4, I want to make even more Money out of it. Etc...

I never update my content, because it speaks about a limited subject. My PR recently went from 2 to 3. so I guess it's all about having a unique content (for sure) and quality backlinks.

You must have provided links with good quality websites and we can also say domain age plays a major role in it. Also.. people searching for something might land on your webpage etc., keyword is also an important factor.

whatd you expect for traffic to burst out of nowhere?

    PR doesnt give traffic
    PR does't give money
PR is an entirely useless attribute to even look at
the only thing that will increase your site's value is keyword position because anyone who's at least MODERATE in SEO knows that pagerank has no value

This is the Exact answer according to me as well. You keywords should be in ranking if you want to earn more and more. Don't be happy if you have PR 3 or + website with no searches. It is useless untill you will not get unique visitors. No doubt that PR is very important but in link building

A 3 months old site with a PR 3 is not bad.

The next step is your keyword ranking.

So what is this PR thing all about then?
Wat does GOOGLE use it for?

If it is true that PR does not affect your positioning on the SERPs, then what is it for?
Is it just an useless indicator? I doubt it! Google must use it for something.
And whatever that something is, it must affect your SERPs too.

you shouldn't be happy. I'm in the same position but my SERP hasn't changed and this is what I want right now. Mine also climbed from 0 to 3 suddenly. But no use I think unless good SERP.

Alright, but what does GOOGLE use PR for?
If it's not there to affect your SERP, then what use does Big G have of it?

^ Somebody said that it's just Google PR dance. And I think they are wrong.
My PR is still PR3. Hasn't dropped.
I just added some new original content, so I only see my PR going up, not down.
