Hi guys....I have experienced that some of the clickbank products only have an opt in box on their site and nothing to sell...and then they send offers and make money that way...

As an affiliate, I have sometimes noticed that I do not get commissions from these sort of products.Have you guys has this issue as well?

  • Rule #1 of Clickbank products. Never promote a product where they have a prominent optin on the sales page. You can lose too many sales.

As to vendors that aren't selling anything specific, I'm pretty sure that's against the Clickbank TOS.
  • Of course that's is against the Terms of Service. Thanks for this tip. I considered to start soon with some "test click bank projects" and now I know that I can actually lose sales when they are using opt-in pages

    (Sounds logical)

You sure do have to when you send traffic to CB.

A lot of vendors will use it to collect new email optins at the affiliates expense, as you've already found out.

Right now I'm sending traffic directly to the payment page with cookies applied. I do my own selling on my pages, I don't give my traffic away for free on some crazy 2 mile high squeeze page (I hate those types of pages).

I'm not sure If CB approves sending traffic directly to a payment page, I haven't had any problems yet. I respect my traffic & refuse to punish them with unnecessary squeeze pages & optin forms outside of my own email list.

Besides the more pages traffic has to look at the fewer sales you will get, IMO.

I kid you not, I've seen CB squeeze pages with Adsense on them before (wth - that's just crazy)!
  • That actually depends on the vendor. Some vendors promote to their list without using a hop affiliate link and some do use their aff links. Obviously you'll get credited for sales that come without their aff link as long as your cookie doesn't expire.

How do i know this just from being an affiliate?
Cause sometimes i get sales for products that have a real promo going on, such as 50% off summer discount. I don't use a list so it has to be the vendor sending out emails about these discounts.

They do that free tip email optin to steal affiliate commissions/traffic.

If I can sell their product without their squeeze page, I know they can do the same without an optin form on the squeeze page. They are just trying to milk affiliates for more money/traffic.

I don't get that type of thinking, I mean really, If I'm a vendor I will do everything in my power to make the affiliates successful. If the affiliate is continuously successful then the vendor also wins with his percentage of the sale.

You can find some good guys on CB, but you defiantly need to follow the path that the traffic will follow, all the way to the payment page & double check that they are not trying to steal your traffic out from under you. Do the research.
