How to buy an EXPIRED domain to speed up ranking process

I'd like to get the opinions and advice from warriors who have experience in buying a dropped/expired domain to speed up the seo ranking process...

I read somewhere here on the forum that says, if you want to get trust in the eyes of G (faster than you would with a brand new domain), then you should buy a domain BEFORE it expires. Is this true? What is the "Best" place to go to find these expired domains before they expire.

My desire is to 'speed up the ranking process/lessen the g dance/increase trust earlier on' - by purchasing a domain OTHER than the traditional "buy a fresh new domain"...so, what other way is there to purchase a domain that will fulfill these desires I have?

thanks!

That is about the most inefficient way to find domains to buy that I have ever heard. Do not waste time doing this.

Yeah there is some strange advice going around in this forum recently. Even stranger than usual. Even buying an aged domain to rank as a money site is probably a bit off. SEo is long term and you can generally rank a site that has only two months age pretty easily. If you are going to buy aged domains might as well by some with backlinks to link to your money site.

To be fair, it does work but you'd literally have to contact thousands of webmasters to even get a response and have a chance of acquiring some good domains at good prices.

Not very time efficient, but would work if you could automate the process or you were willing to spend the time doing it on a mass scale.

If you contacted 10 webmasters you'd be lucky to get a single response.

I didn't say it doesn't work. I said it is extremely inefficient and a waste of time.

There are MUCH more efficient ways to go about finding domains to buy.

You can search for aged domains at auctions.godaddy.com - You can even specify how old you would like them to be.

I search every day for all domains that are 10 years or older. There are always plenty to choose. I pick up domains like this all the time - it's addictive!

    Hope that helps!

An aged domain alone will be no help to you, however an aged domain that also has aged backlinks can certainly help as you can instantly have a site with authority, you can use the site for backlinks or you can start it up again, it will be able to get more backlinks in a shorter amount of time and not be punished as it is aged, therefore is more trustworthy in the eyes of google.

I've been use godaddy auctions to find old domains with PR, but finding a good domain that has includes a good keyword, has legit backlinks supplying the PR and hasn't been abused is pretty hard.

Hey folks...can anyone help a newbie with the best way to rebuild the pages of an aged domain to retain the PR and backlinks? Perhaps there is a helpful ebook or training course?...or a clever person that can show me? I would bat my eyes and offer nefarious things but I am way to old and the wrong gender for that...lol

    Thanks

You don't have to contact anyone. You can buy from namejet and godaddy auctions. There are over 100,000 domains that are for sale everyday. I just built a tool which analyzes all of these domains.

There is tons of hidden gold in the auction places of namejet and godaddy. I just bought an aged domain in the dog training niche and I was able to rank in in 1 week. Just had to put a website up along with some content and backlinks and it started ranking well.

Aged domains are great for buying authority right now rather than waiting for a year to build it yourself.

You can check our tool out here. Aged Domain Hunter

Let me know if you have any questions.

Age domain will not help much on SERP ranking, if it is a shortcut to get rank, surely no one going to step in this forum to learn SEO strategic, simply buy age domain will do.

    SEOMOZ explain it:
Sure, age maybe possibly could play a small part, but as Rand will show you in the following video, we're nearly 100% sure it's generally not something you should worry about.

True, maybe not just depending on age but if an aged domain has over 200 backlinks your work is cut in half. It is not about just buying an aged domain. Its about buying an domain with authority and backlinks which helps a lot.

There is also opportunity for finding exact match domains that are available in auction that not be available to register as a new domain.
