Hi Warriors,

Bad news.

I had a website on page 1, rank 5 on Google. I made the n00best mistake of trying to push it up the rankings by doing a Social Bookmark backlink blast using SEnuke X.

Last night I used the Indexer to get them "seen" by Google. Today I'm no longer on page 5. In fact I can't find my web site anywhere??? SERPAttacks says I'm 64th but I still can't find my site. Is this the dreaded Google slap?

So basically my questions are:

a) Can I recover my original ranking? In hindsight 5th wasn't so bad as I was getting traffic and making sales.

b) What's to stop me from backlink bombing a competitor out of the Google Index? Surely Google must have safety nets in place?

Thanks folks.

Sanj.

It's said that nothing you do off page can hurt your rankings, but I have tested this theory and have seen ranking drops by too many backlinks loaded up too quickly. I have had nothing, but good results using SEN, but I never blast all at once. I think it depends how big your blast was. My guess is that your rank will come back if you just wait it out a week or so. It may come back even stronger.

Most likely a Google dance. You need to continue building links and also vary the anchor text used when building these links.

If you're trying to rank for Chinese blue Widgets - my rule of thumb is to only use the target keyword 50% of the time. The other times, i'll use blue widgets from china, blue widgets chinese, etc.

How new is the site? It can be Google Dance.. my site was like 32nd but then disappeared form rankings and then came back after few days in 11th.

But it can be Google slap if you build way too much links. Don't blast them, have patience, drip feed them slowly.

If you are de-indexed then game is over. You can check that on Google by searching ''site:www.yoursite.com''if nothing is there, then it's de-indexed...

I usually get excited when my new sites disappear after heavy link building.

They always come back to enjoy a higher ranking

It's all those junk blast that you are doing that's making your site dance in the SERPs.

Lay off the blast & create some quality links, the site will come back, or keep blasting & keep dancing...

First of all, check your website using site command to see whether its deindexed or not....

If it appears in the search results, then you just need to improve its rankings.

Forget about all the blasting that you did... Just create some quality backlinks and publish quality content on your website.

I think it's just a Google dance. If things tend to go wrong, then discontinue the blasting. Build quality and natural backlinks. This will lead your site back to its position.

if its a new site, then it would get sandboxed from building too many links too fast. however an older site shouldnt be effected negativley. maybe you made too many social bookmarks in one go? or didnt vary the anchor text?

try mix up the anchor text in seonuke especially for social bookmarking

if you are still indexed then you will get your rank back and will probably be higher! so give it a lil time! -

and you can check to see if your site is still indexed search for "yoursite" or site:_______

There is ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH THING AS being or getting SANDBOXED....

Why do people and so-called SEOers keep suggesting this nonsense...??

Go ask Mr. Cutts himself if you don't know

      GeeZuZ!

But, in the OPs case, nothing to worry about, the site will be back in no time; just have some patience.

    a) I reckon it's going to recover itself. As long as you keep some links pointing to your site consistently but not aggressively. 5-10 a day.

    b) If you continue with daily backlinks at a reasonable level there's nothing to say that a competitor hasn't done that to you. I had a site where that had happened. Got tons of backlinks in a few days. I had mine going at 5 a day and then all of a sudden an influx of backlinks came in. The site disappeared. I let the link building carry on without changing it and the site was back up the following week at #4.
