Pingbacks?

When you submit an article to AMR, dozens of pingbacks appear in the pending comments section in WordPress.

Is there any purpose of approving/keeping these or should they just be deleted to trash?

Well, i've seen some plugins in the WSO section that use pingbacks to index the articles by putting them in an RSS feed.

I don't know how effective it is, but nevertheless it is something worth considering.
