A little help about Keywords

I want to see what everybody has to say about this.
Choose
A: 140 a day for wordtracker, 18,000 for the adwords tool for Dec. With the keywords in quotes on google It has 173,000 pages

B: 3 a day for wordtracker, 1600 for the adwords tool for Dec. With the keywords in quotes only 945 pages

Which one would you choose and why? The reason I ask is my new website domain will consist one of these keywords. I was leaning to A because of the volume of searches. Let me know what you think. Thanks

  • It depends what your overall objectives are. If you were going to build a site that focuses on Keyword A as it's main term then option A: may be better for you with sub pages like option B. However, if it was just a page you need to dig deeper and look at the strength of competition for the top ranking sites for keyword A. Option B is going to be an easier target unless the top 10 is dominated with ridiculously strong competition. Even though you have 945 competing pages it doesn't necessarily mean you have weak competition at the very top, although in this case it looks probable. Because it gets a lower volume of searches it is likely to be an easy target. Do a bit more research and you'll have your answers
