For me, it is Market Samurai hands down. It can take a little bit longer to get you your results but the UI is slick and you can get a wealth of information at a quick glance. Check it out.

Micro Niche Finder is solid but I kind of stopped using it after I got good at doing my own research, which was faster for me. I also used Keyword Elite 2.0 for a while (this was like 1 year ago or longer I'm guessing).

I use Micro Niche Finder. It's always being updated so you know it'll work, it's pretty slick and for digging into niches it's good. I also use Keyword Elite 2.0, but it is more tricky to use and recently has not been that great at all.

I like Market Samurai, and will always use it. I've bought most of the keyword programs out there over the years. However, there is a great new one that I've started using called Long Tail Pro. It's quick, it researches several keywords at once, and I like the features they have.
From now on I will be using both. If Long Tail Pro grows to provide some
of the other features Market Samurai has, it might be my only go-to
program. I am not an affiliate or anything, but the url is Long Tail Pro | **Keyword Research Software to Find Long Tail Keywords**. Spencer's support with even minor questions is awesome.

Don't waste too much time on keyword research. Focus most of your efforts in researching your niche and market. The free Google Keyword Tool is all I need for my keyword research.

As Michele has mentioned above, Market Samurai is also a good one. The SEO competition module is especially good.

    Use two keyword research tools.
First you use Google ad-words to find all the keywords you are interested in and all the basics, Then export them to Market samurai to in depth analyzing the keywords / competition.
Market samurai can be a bit slow to work with, that is why i suggest Ad-words to do all the basic research.

The one I'm using right now is Brad Callen's Niche Finder. I can find more manually using the free Google Keyword Tool but this makes it brain-dead simple to use.

I use SECockpit as well as the Google Keyword Tool. I can find keywords almost no one else is going for and get a detailed analysis on up to 800 keywords within minutes. It's great.

If you're worried about the monthly charge, then consider spending more time thinking through your IM budget. The same way I'd gladly pay $5k+ for access to a good mastermind group because of the huge ROI, paying a monthly fee for access to some of the best keyword data because of the big potential ROI seems like a no brainer to me.

I am not used to use any of the tool for keyword research. As keyword is the word that enter by people for their query and as per the exact match word to the query, google show the results with highlighting the words.
So observe such words in your field that highly entered by people for their need and set those words as your keyword. So this will provide the more efficient result but it will take sometime in assumption of exact match words as the people enter.

I'll go with Market Samurai, and also you should try Facebook ads, you can do your market research there before paying for the ad and it will show you exactly how many people there are that are using your keywords and will also show you what other keywords are those people looking for.

you should also combine it with google trends and quantcast.com, but in the end, I'll vote for Market Samurai, it will give you already most of the info you need to know about your market and if it is profitable or not

I personally use Market Samurai since I already own it and find it to be very effective for keyword research, rank tracking, competition analysis, writing blog posts, finding content, blog commenting, and other tasks.

I have watched a webinar recently for SECockpit and it looks very good, probably better than Market Samurai for keyword research. The people I know who are using it are crazy about the program.

You might want to ask Warrior BFAS of the Adsense 100K Blueprint if he would be willing to share their webinar on the product. The webinar shows you the real power of SECockpit and where it excels over most other keyword research programs today.

    AWStats by a mile.

I have many pages ranked for terms getting me modest traffic per month (200-400) when GAKT told me zero searches on broad.

    Get your keywords from AWStats.

Find out what pages ranked for what term. Write a page on those keywords (if it is new) calling it the new key word and link back to the original article.

Double listing here we come. (in most case, not all of course)

I have different approach to keyword research.
I would use software like Market Samurai or Long Tail Pro, but I would also go a little bit further with my analysis and do some manual work as well. I would go to Amazon and find related terms in Books. I would also look at competitors to find what they are doing.
Then I will use MS or LTP to do deeper SEO competition analysis.
