Lets say I have this article on my website
domain.com / keyword-target.html

and it is targeted to the keyword I want to promote.

So lets say I go promote it by anchor link, do I use the link to my article (domain.com / keyword-target.html)

or do I use domain.com

??

It depends on you. Most of the people have 1 page for each keyword, and some others target all of their keywords to the homepage.

    I use the first method.

Agreed it all depends on what your trying to rank.

Are you ranking the Index page or the internal page?

Point the majority of links at the page your trying to rank, & still point a few quality links at supporting pages to help keep them in the loop.

Which page do you want to rank for the target keyword?

If your home page is directly related to the inner page, then I would build links to both, but with more links to the internal page.

I would build 25% to your homepage (provided that it's related) and the rest to your specific page. Over time your homepage will have more authority which looks natural and you'll also be buiding quality inner links which are important as well.

Then again, if your homepage is of little value to you (i.e.. it doesn't relate to your inner page in anyway) you may not want to follow this advice.

    Hope that helps

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

Each page on the internet is a page that can be ranked.

I can't tell you how many people have used my services to only
link their homepages! Don't make this mistake....

Remember that each page can be ranked, so each page should be
linked. Don't just link to the homepage for each keyword that you
are trying to rank. It just confuses Google and won't really get you
    that far.
