Only problem you might have is if you try to rank the .us in some country outside of the United States. It is still possible, but you may find it more challenging.

        Hi,

This question gets asked about twice a week here....

The answer is emphatically, no - it makes no difference whatsoever what your domain extension is. I have thousands of .info sites and they rank just fine.

If you're creating a branded website then yes, sure...from a PR point of view always go with .com

But if you're just knocking out adsense sites, then go with .info They're way cheaper and rank just as well...

Search around on my website for an article called "Thanksgiving Adsense Secret" or something like that and I show you how you can get .info's for only $.67 cents at Godaddy...

I don't have any experience with a .us, but I have several .info websites that rank on the 1st page for their targeted keywords. If you're looking to brand your domain name, I would go with the .com, but .info's are awesome if when you're looking to build out small niche sites and don't want to spend a lot of money upfront for domain registration fees.

Its clear that you can optimize any domain with any extension but i myself prefer to have .com , .org , .net and .us domains. I don't like .info ones.

The problem is with people's perception of a .info site.
Not everybody, but many people will remember the days when it used to be used for spamming.
Nowadays, the first thing that comes to mind when I see a .info site is --Cheap made for adsense site.

That is an IM'ers point of view, not the general public's.
