The Real Deal with Page Rank!

I thought I would put my two cents in the conversation with Page Rank which everyone talks about and is concerned where the site is according to the green tool bar. First of all I want to state one thing, which is fact based on my own results. Page Rank has nothing to do with with search engine result placements (serps).

The reason Page Rank is called Page Rank is because Page rank goes by the "Page" not the domain of the site. So if you have a homepage with a PR of 4 and the inner link is zero, and the link is placed on the zero page, then that is a zero Page Rank link ----- Period.

How to increase Page Rank? Get links from higher Page Ranks "PAGES", than yours, in quotes I said pages, not domains. If you can get one PR 7 link that will do wonders. Now I have built a lot of sites, and they have PR 0 to PR 7, the ones that have PR 7 took a lot of work, I had to get a ton of PR 5 links to get to seven, but then one day I realize that instead of getting all the lower Page Rank Links I decided to get one higher than me.

Here is what happened to one of my sites recently that had less than five links. I was fortunate enough to have a inventory of Page rank five sites and I put a couple of links back to my new site, and guess what, my site was a PR 5, easy said easy done, but I still had to do more Seo to get positioning in the search engine results.

Seo, and Page Rank are interdependent of each other. What that means is Page Rank has a big circle, and Seo has a big circle and the circle barely cross one another. If you can imagine that in your mind then you may understand the relationship between PR and SEO.

Fastest way to PR; get a high PR link with low OBL's; this will have little impact on your search engine results.

SEO, place backlinks in many places throughout the web ranging from PR 0 and up, which will increase the impressions for your website in the search engine results.

If you read the post all they way through. Thank you!

    • how can you live without it,hah ?

i think that if your take care about your pr,control all your pages, dont think that if one your page has a high level, you have a supersuper site
  • Of course people still care about PageRank of inbound links. But for the pages being ranked, it doesn't matter to so much.

    • only when selling a site or links, as other people seem to care about it...

  • Page rank determine number of inbound back links and quality content of the page.
  • Wrong: Page rank is one of many factors used in ranking a site it may be miniscule but it is used.

Wrong Again: Page rank is named after Larry page and wasn't named because rank goes by page...rank can also go by domain.

Again wrong: you can get links from a high ranked domain and you get get crap loads of pr 0 links and still rank.

Where did you learn this stuff?

  • I bet people with PR8 websites would laugh off this post
  • Yep, PageRank is entirely irrelevant.

That's why you see so many PR0's and PR N/A's dominating
    the top rankings in Google.

    Good post OP

    • Good post OP?!?!?!?!

Well, look what you have in your sig! LOL!

People are so daft about PR, it's insane.

Anyone who says PR is irrelevant, should not be
advertising high PR links as some panacea.

After all PR is irrelevant, right?

      Oh...wait...on second thought...gee...maybe...er...um...

And let me quote the sig before it gets changed...

      PANDA LOVES PAGERANK

      ROTFLMAO!

  • I stopped reading at that sentence. That NOT why is called PageRank!
  • So if you had the choice of a contextual link from a PR7 page or PR0 page, you wouldn't care which one to use?
