My google webmasters "links to your site" report!! Confusion..

This thread I'm posting here to get a better knowledge of google webmaster.
First going through my statitics...In my webmasters account "links to your site" I have total links=860 and they are coming from 97 different domains..some giving 300..some 200 and many with 2 or 3 links to my site.
My question is How the google is going to count them all?
For example:Is the google going to count them as 860 or 97.
also I would like to know which is more better having many links from a single domain (not spamming, like I get 70 backlinks from warrior forum) or is it more better to have backlinks from too many domains??
Plz some warrior do share some of your own statitics too to make this matter more clear to me...

97 unique links to your site. you should go for many domains instead of a single one.

I think Google considers both 97 as unique ones and 860 as all for ranking your site.

The more domains you can get links from the better but that doesn't mean having links on multiple pages on a domain is a bad thing. I just think there are diminishing returns. You should be more focused on your rankings (and conversion rates) than backlink count.

So how many unique domains will be sufficient, this means that I will have to keep up me searches to find new blogs and forums daily or will it be good to concentrate on these 100 domains and get as many links from these ones bcz they provide me high PR links.

I am confused with the report on Webmaster as well. I make one backlink from one page and it often reports that I have like ~50-100 backlinks from that domain.

What will you recommend if my competitor is having its main backlinks from about 30 different domains and getting 400 backlinks(about 70 high PR) from 4 domains and about 50 backlinks from rest 26 domains..

I think it is mainly relative to the competition too.

Google only counts only a single a link from a domain, doesn't matter how many you get

And also if it is like that only that means that if I go and comment on a n/a PR page of a blog whose actual domain is having a PR7 than will my backlink is going to count from PR 7..I dont think that it is so simple...

Yeah ..I daily searches for new domains and adds 2-3 new domains daily..is it sufficient or do I need to do more and also one more thing I would like to ask..as If going for blog commenting, using your keyword definetly seems spammy for the administrator so what if I make comment by my name..do it counts backlink juice for my site..
