Free Tool to Check backlinks after Yahoo Dead

Since Yahoo have Gone Dead I am using http://ahrefs.com/site-explorer/
Just registered there once and enjoy!

  • But dear its not working for me. Whenever I enter domain URL to explore links and SERP analysis, its does't show the results and gives error. Is it OK for you guys?

  • With Majestic you need to upload a txt file to your site to prove you own it too. Just thought I would mention that.

    thas apples and Oranges, OF COURSE a paid tool is better
  • SEO SpyGlass too! Just forgot about that one. That can really find you some good stuff about your website. The error report on your site is very handy.

      Do one thing more after putting your competitor's site there do ...> (EXPORT All Data To XLS) After exporting open your XLS file and you will see everything even Crawled Date of the Backlinks! So, enjoy

  • Yes. I would agree this site is one of the best even with free option.
    The best thing: it shows not only number of backlinks but also shows the number of different C-class IPs

  • You have to understand that Google's indexation times have changed post-panda, before G would normally take several weeks to index most links, now they can take several months, I don't even use a backlink checking software anymore, none of them will ever report 100% of your links anyway, I just focus purely on ranking changes with numerous tests...

  • I think the tools is really great as the most of the features are free and not being included the basic pricing structure.
  • Ahrefs.com is not so good at all. I've tried it at the time when YE was live and it provided results that were far from the number of counted links with Yahoo Explorer. Now, I think it's reasonable to get SEO Spyglass - just check it with the free account first.

  • Wonderful share but I think it is important to let everyone know that tools such as this will not show you a definitive number of back links and should not be relied upon solely for accurate depiction of Backlink quantity as documents such as PDFs with links represent back links but are not indexed by tools such as the one described.

    • Tell you onething that by webmaster you can see your own's site backlinks but this is a free tool that you can enjoy!

      If you download file to csv you can get many other thing which othre free tools are not giving.

      Hey after putting you competiter's website to explore download the all data and then open the file. Then see all the things then you will come to know which one is better !

  • ahrefs is SEOBook's newest tool. It looks pretty sweet if I do say so myself...I honestly didn't realize that they had a free site explorer though! This is pretty tight.

    Great share, I'll certainly be using this! One of these days I'm going to finally just break down and commit myself to either majesticSEO, Ahrefs, SEMRush or Raven Tools. I just can't decide!
