Blog comments don't seem to go through after submission?

I manually comment on blogs for backlinks, but it seems that most of the blogs that I comment on might have some sort of weird filter or something. I post quality comments, not junk. I always use a proper name in the "Name" field. Yet after I click submit, the page just refreshes with nothing telling me about whether my comment is awaiting moderation or whether it's been posted or anything! It's as if I'd never submitted a comment. I just don't understand what's going on in those blogs. Maybe someone could shed some light on this problem because I've been scratching my head.

Yes this is correct. For whatever reason you will probably find that Akismet is picking up your website as spam. You will need to either contact them and get that undone, or the site owner.

I have checked back after several days, and they never appear. In fact, these blogs usually have zero comments. It's as if the owners don't even check or perhaps they disabled it internally but kept the comments box UI on the site. I wonder if the latter reason is the main issue.

They must have had a bad experience from ScrapeBox blasts....

Pretty sure something is getting flagged. Could be your IP, website address, name, email, or even the comment itself. Otherwise it'd notify you that your comment is awaiting moderation.

Can you try and post behind a proxy? If it still doesn't work then you can be fairly certain that it's something other than your IP.

That definitely sounds possible. I don't have access to a good proxy though. I tried using a free one but I'm not sure if those work good. Either way, I tried commenting on one of these blogs again with the free proxy and it still didn't go through. Hm...

Are you using an internal page of a website or the homepage?

When I was blog commenting, many (most) blogs did not accept any internal page, only the homepage.

Hm, that's interesting. I have not actually tried commenting on the home page. I always do it on a separate page. That could be the issue, but I wonder why.

As you use the blogger for the blog comments and i have found the same problem before some time. Though i use the best content in my comment , it not approved ever. So i started to use the disqus for the comments and it approved most of the comments and i get the best backlinks results through the blog comments. So you should use the disqus.

I'm not saying that I have to comment on the blog's homepage. Only that very often when I was trying to backlink my site's internal page, it didn't go through.

Let's say my site is: www.allsocks.com I couldn't use blog comments to backlink this page: www.allsocks.com/black-socks, only the homepage: www.allsocks.com

      Sorry for the misunderstanding.

If you are placing your comments on a blog post and they are not showing up it's usually due to them being moderated by the owner of the site. I've noticed when using this technique that even if I place good quality comments that they may not ever show up.

This is usually due to the way the site is set up, where the owner of the blog /site doesn't disable the ability to leave comments and doesn't ever check to see if there are new comments pending.

I'm noticing the approval rate dropping over the last couple of months, especially with the number of spammers using the method.

How many are you posting compared to the number getting approved?

This happens quite often it just seems to refresh the page but if your comment is good enough (and there are other recently approved comments there) you will usually see it pop up once the admin has monitored it.

Yes, it would be nice to see a "Thanks For Your Comment" page but sometimes these won't exist.

Another strange scenario is when you hit a blank white page, this also usually means your comment has been submitted for approval.

No idea where these horrible blog setups come from but I can assure you I always see comments after I check again in a month or so. I don't think it is anything to do with a flagged IP or anything.

    Kind Regards,
    Dave

Looks like you are commenting on wordpress blog because they are the only site that behaves this way. The only time this kind of thing happens is when your site has been blacklisted for spamming. This is inevitable so long as you are pointing your blog comment links to directly to your site.

You can talk to akisment and if they review your case and see that you don't have so many comments within a short while you can be resuscitated.

Next, time try to point your wordpress blog comment to your web 2.0 or something else and not directly to your blog. Every one has a way of identifying spam, if the owner of the blog you commented on flag your comment as spam, your website and IP will most likely be black listed and that is when you get no response, not that the comment isn't receive but it is sent directly to the spam section. In many cases, comments can be approved by blog owners from spam box.

Sounds like Akismet banned your domain.

You can email Akismet, and if you don't sound like a dud can likely get your domain removed from the list.

Don't screw up again though, they won't unban you a second time.

My recommendation for manual comments is to be sure that the blog accepts comments from people.

Some blog owners simply mark as spam ALL of the submissions, so be sure to only comment on those blogs where there's a lot of interaction and a possibility for your post to be accepted in the first place.

This is becase Akismet blocks your comments. Blogs are usually moderated by owners since there are lot of spammers. They are just protecting their blogs.

Also, there's plenty of non-Akismet blogs. So it's not the end of the world if Akismet is flagging you. You can usually get it lifted once. But if you're flagged again, it's much harder. So be sure to make high quality comments on blogs that have other active comments.

Even then, you may get flagged. That's just the way it is. If you want to make sure your main site stays under the radar then link to a "buffer" site that links to you. (Web 2.0, article, etc.) Or, set up a 301 redirect.

It's no surprise at all. Most of the moderators are not interested in approving comments. If you find a blog that is not in strict moderation, it has already been attacked by blatant spammers.
