Registrars are virtually giving them away, are they worth the while?

  • You can get good rankings with .info sites but there is a reason why most experienced people choose not to use .info.
  • The prevailing thought? FROM WHO? People who don't know
    anything? Okay. I'll second that.

Is your post just to spam your sig link?

Just wondering, because it's a question that has been answered
    many times here. Many times.

    Too many times.

And here we go again. We start the whole friggin thing over
    again.

    This thread should end here.

Google could give a rat's behind if you use a .info or a .com.
    Period.

But it won't end. Because people have these puppy dog feelings
that get mixed up with big dog SEO.

How about a filter so that any thread with ".info" in the
    title gets deleted?

  • This is asked almost daily.

I've had no issues with .info domains. Neither have many other people. Though there's always a handful of others though that claim .info is terrible.

The only real way to know for sure is to try and rank one yourself. That's it.

    • Yeah - I've even seen it asked more than a couple of times per day.

To the OP - domain extension means nada. Focus on your keyword research and the competition you're going up against instead.

  • Well,

they're only cheap for the first year, after that they're 10$/yr too. Despite of that, you can rank well with .infos too, but from personal experience a .net/.org/.com is always better than an .info domain.
