Hi,

I need your guidance to clear my confusion.

  • I have three different keywords from the same niche.
  • Each having different competition levels say, first keyword is High , second keyword is Medium and 3rd is Low in competition.
  • But one thing is common among them all, which is their Global and local searches. (They have same number of searches )
My questions is that which KW will come on top SERP first without or with same SEO efforts. And which KW will earn more?

Thanks

And what about the earnings? Will this KW also earn more than the other two for being on top in SERP?

This will purely depend on the product or services you provide.

I depends on your SEO efforts. Whatever it be, third keyword will be ranking first and next it would be obviously the keyword for which you optimize best and better.

As per my best knowledge, Long tail keywords rank quicker than normal keywords (2-3 words). If all keywords are of same word limits then low competition keyword will rank quickly.

Earning depends on your CTR, appearance of your website or blog, Content of website and other things. Low competitive keyword will rank first as compare to medium and high competitive keywords.

Thanks of you all for helping me by participating in this discussion. Now I have concluded that the Low competition keywords come on top with less efforts and combination of two or more keywords adds much in your SEO efforts and your adsense income.

That rings alarm bells for me.

If you are looking at the competition rating from Google Adwords Keyword Tool, don't confuse that with the competition to ranking for that particular keyword.

The Gooel Adwords Keyword Tool competition refers to the competition bidding on that particular keyword for an Adwords campaign.

      Yes, you are right.
Competition in GAKT regarding how many adwords advertisers are competing for particular keyword. It doesn't show up a Google competition in rankings.
If you like to know real competition in google, type your keyword in google, donwload a seoquake addon for firefox before, and look at the first 10 pages pagerank, backlinks, alexa etc. Then you will know exactly what to do to get in top 10.

keyword with low competition level would be ranked fast obviously. But it depends on your seo efforts too. You can use combination of keywords and long tail keywords to better optimize your keywords. However, Google keyword tool competition factor not effect on it. It only helps you in adwords.

    Thanks

yes, your third KW will rank first. But in respect to earning I will suggest you to choose 2nd because it will take average time to rank and give you moderate earning

High competition keyword - prolly not a brand, but the keyword a brand is aiming for (i.e. "hosting company uk", "domain registration coupons")
medium - something regular but not exactly what brands are targeting, or in other words - something not that clear - ("hosting company") - it can be cheap, in uk, cloud, dedicated...
    low - brand. - ("namecheap")

try all, use same onpage optimization and see which is rank the best, than that is the easiest competition (as long as those three are in the same niche)

  • I think low would be the obvious answer. But you still have to work at it.

Having them with the same number of searches. Of course the keyword with low competition will rank better if you will do the same SEO efforts
