What is your main source of traffic? Is it targeted? You can't form any solid conclusions from 2 clicks.

        yes
        that is normal
the clicks you are getting are people simply interested but they didn't buy from the ad (or very quickly left, seconds after clicking)

now if the people clicking actually bought something you might get a dollar a click or more.

methinks perhaps the value of what ever keyword you are targeting or the niche simply doesn't pay very much.

I've got a dozen addiction blogs that pay roughly a penny a click every blue moon. I don't post to those blogs to make money (but I'll take it if it gets earned)

My brick n mortar blogs with adsense pay a lot more, but adsense is just pocket change for me right now. An extra benefit but not my business model.

I'm not really the best person to teach you that.
I do things the hard way, I've got an idea of what I want then in bull headed fashion make it work.

There are others here that do NOT start with a product, they hunt for a demand and let that demand shape the product.

            they search the keywords first

            you do the same
            right here
there is a search feature in this forum
search for keyword, keyword strategy, keyword selection

            variations on that theme.

I'm not the best person on this forum to answer those questions

Jesse Livermore, a great Wall Street Trader once said, "Bend with the trend. Don't sail into a gale". You are better off positioning yourself where the demand already is and ride the waves than try to set sail in the opposite direction where nobody is interested in going. Speaking specifically about Adsense if you are building a site you are better off capturing a small amount of traffic in a competitive niche where there are healthy payouts than you are in targeting one that requires several times the amount of traffic to make the same income. It all depends on what your objectives are, but if it's purely Adsense revenue, that is the way to go.

I love it..!! Bend with the trend. This is very good, helpful info and makes a ton of sense. I have a touch of "David Syndrome" too, which makes me fall in love with my great ideas and then I end up hammering the square peg into the round hole. Way easier to sail WITH the gale. Cathy

I just got off a conference call with the new adsense admanager...
all I can say is WOW.

I'm still taking it all in, Google is letting us do some amazing stuff.
It'll take me a while to collate all of what I just learned.

Am still pinching myself - wonder how many other people got invited to that sneak preview/ lesson from the Google engineers that wrote the api.

Just a cursory glance at your site and something just grabbed me right away:

    you've got copy re: adsense
    and
    copy about pay to click

    ... on the same page?

that's dangerously close to violating the adsense TOS

you can't ask people to click on the ads
    that's a no no

You are probably getting clicks but no buyers and the advertisers are not making money so probably have amrten up and pull their adds from your sites.

To wlcked - there are 2 possibilities. Either you've chosen a niche that plain sucks (i.e maybe "underwater basket weaving" or something) where there just aren't advertisers, or you've been smartpriced.

Smartpricing is when google senses your site traffic isn't up to par, so they make every click dirt cheap.

Where are you getting your traffic from?
