Hi guys,

I've been a reading through this forum for quite some time now and gained a lot of knowledge. I want to act now but I'm not quite sure if this would work or not.

Basically I want to set up a Wordpress blog on the topic of Football (Soccer) and I plan on discussing the football clubs and latest news about Barclays Premier League and all. I chose this because I have an interest in it and I can easily write articles about it.

I have a learned about SEO and link building etc and I plan to monetize it with AdSense. Do you think it would be a good idea or not and would it be possible to generate a good income through this? I know there's technically no particular answer for this, but how much can I make through AdSense if I get 1,000 unique visitors each week?

Thank you.

I can assume why no one is helping is because of your lack of activity on this forum. You created a 'spam' account with 8 consecutive letters+numbers (asdf + 1234) to obviously post this question to get help for your own problem only. Then you go on and say that you've been reading a lot of this forum, but you just joined this month? Not to mention this thread is your only 2 posts.

Sorry bud, but to receive help on this forum, you sometimes have to contribute help first.

How can I help anyone on this forum if I don't have knowledge about it? Almost everyone on this forum would know more than me :\

Dude I think you should go for it. People well mostly guys, love reading about their favorite teams, sport etc. Even if they do not agree with you, they would still read. So one people find the site and it looks nice, they would keep visiting to read more and more. With increase visits, you can profit more from adsense. I think you should go for it. There isn't much downsides. You do not have much to lose.

It depends on which kws you are aiming for, what those kws pay per click on Adsense

Honestly this business is enjoyable but its not a one week get up and go thing, its a lot of reading and asking questions. Read read, read, also dont just ask questions on this forum,
go to google and enter your question there

often when you do that you get old threads on THIS forum, which are so buried in the archives you would never see them without finding them in Google

People who want to make money with Adsense, rarely do just one site though
I guess they could but its not easy to make enough money on just one site
but it does teach you the basics

Oh and I do agree about your username
asdf1234 looks like you are not a serious webmasters If I were you I would change that immediately

This is great to start a website. When you will have some content you will attract visitors and they might "visit" your ads.

But don't focus on earnings. Focus on content and do a little keyword research and SEO.
Create an authority website that people will love to visit. This is a prerequisite for steady income.

You will find alot of threads here on the warrior forum showing how to do keyword research. However sign up for a google adwords keywords a/c and start there. The cpc can give you an indication as to how lucrative a keyword is.

I believe, blogging website is the best for AdSense... Make sure your blog is not violating any AdSense guidelines and you are publishing good quality content.

One tip : Do not adopt fraud click practice in order to make more AdSense income.

Build the site first, keep adding fresh content, add anslytics to track your visitors and build your fan base. Then experiment with monetization. There are lots of ways to monetize a site. Some methods work better than others for different sites.

Its certainly doable but I would suggest that 1000 visits a week on this topic is a low amount and to make any decent money I would suspect you need probably double this per day to make say $30 - $50 a day.

If I were you I would do this as a long term project that your passionate about and look into building smaller niche sites at the same time for fast cash.

I think one really important thing with this sort of topic is you need to be really on top of it and break news, for example bogging as things happen this way you will pick up short burst on hot topics.

Yes, it can be done. You should go for it. Just be aware of what you are doing and not do anything to get penalized or something like that. As you have the idea of SEO then make your own strategy and start without a fear.

This has the makings of a great website adventure. It's a very competitive niche and you will have to target keywords effectively but honestly, there are some really easy longtail keywords you can get for this niche. Stuff happens all the time and people search for that new stuff. For example, Luis Suarez of Liverpool just had the findings of his recent misdemeanour published - people will be searching for that today and tomorrow - if you are quick and current, you could easily get onto the first page of SERPs regularly without doing much backlinking - i.e. just write fresh, current content and get it indexed.

Sounds like a fun niche - best of luck.
