Do search engines consider links from a site that has a different language with my site?

    Hi gjis

From my experience the answer is yes but it all depends on the quality of the backlinks and the surrounding text as to how well those backlinks perform.

    If you have

English.EnglishEnglishEnglishEnglishEnglish then FrenchFrench your backlink FrenchFrench it will work a lot better than no french at all. This is of course not a fact but just from my own experience.

It's of course always better to have all the content in the same language and relevant to your niche but if there are some others easily available then you should snap them up

yes of course they do, i run an SEO service with almost 200 customers under our belt, we regularly get foreign keywords in spanish, french, german etc

but we will always use english articles in our marketing with the article being related to the translated english version of the keyword, this still works the same imo, what counts is that the site owner targeting the spanish or french or whatever keyword has the TLD of that country and if possible has their site hosted on servers in that country too
