Guest Posting For Backlinks

Hi,

I know for guest posts, you're allowed a couple backlinks pointing back to your site, but what if I can't find a good anchor text to point back to my site and the only way I link back is to my home page.

Is that bad? Will backlinks to my homepage still help with rankings?

Thanks

You should be building a variety of links to different pages on your site, including the home page. It would actually look pretty strange not to have a lot of links to your home page. I was told to build 50% of my links to my homepage and the rest split among categories and individual pages for one of my sites.

Not sure why you wouldn't have anchor text. You should always have a keyword focus for each page of your site. Just vary the wording when you build links. You can use your domain name also if it's a real problem.

    Hope that helps.

I agree. You must have a suitable anchor text and if not then you cannot be actively optimizing your pages for keyword rankings.

Don't forget you don't have to anchor a whole sentence you can just anchor a keyword which allows more freedom in your comments or signatures.

Yes that can also help because any kind of link will be treated as a vote unless its done the unnatural way.

It should be diverse. You should also have your backlinks pointing to other internal pages of your site.

Be careful of this tactic. It's very similar to the types of linking schemes that have been devalued recently.

From Google's perspective, multiple dofollow in-content blog links might look very much like Paid Links.

    Hi,

If you are writing a post on someone else's blog, then you are a guest blogger. A blog owner may allow guest bloggers to post on his website for a few reasons. One may be that he is too busy to post regularly himself. Or he invites guest bloggers to add variety to his blog. Sometimes he may be able to get an established blogger to be a guest blogger to get more traffic.
