  • You can check by ranks.nl it is good tool.

    • The easiest way to check is to count them yourself, but you do get lots of tools which will check for you. I think Chrome actually has a plugin which will do it for you, but I may be wrong.
  • I use market samurai to check.

    • What do you exactly mean?

      Keyword stacking gives negative results for ranking.

      But yeah, backlinks are what matters the most.
  • you can check it with search status tool. you just need to put your keyword and it shows density of particular keyword

  • Check Manually percentage according to rules 2 or 3% is best density. So check keyphrase us 2 or three times in 100 words article.
  • Hi Ruby ,

    This is very simple, you can check it by the following formula:

    Keyword Density = ([Keyword Count]*100)/(Total Word Count]

    Keyword Count: The keyword that you target
    Total Word Count: Total words in your article

    • Yup! it's perfect;working fine,
    • Thanks for giving the perfect formula. This formula can give the best and perfect number of keyword density compared to any web tool.
    • You have very nice explain about keyword density. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

    • Keyword density (SEO) (%) is the percentage of times a keyword or key phrase appears on a web page in comparison with the total number of words on the page
  • I prefer you the market samurai!
  • You can check it through iwebtool. Its a good tool and give accurate results.
  • You can check your keyword density by density checker. Check out SEochat or webconfs for these tools. You can also check it on submitexpress.

  • I use DupeFree Pro - it's free and it's priceless when writing SEO friendly content. Allows you to check keyword density. Gives you word count, allows you to compare articles (to check for any duplicate content).
  • It is a number of times a keyword or a phase appear in the webpage to the total number of words in that webpage.
  • Thanx a lot for helping me...
  • I prefer iwebtool to check the keyword density. There are many other tools available but for me iwebtool is the best one.
  • You can check the keywords density in market samurai, it's one of best keyword tool.
  • Actually, if the keyphrase is several words, the formula for keyword density should be
    Density = ( Nkr / ( Tkn -( Nkr * ( Nwp-1 ) ) ) ) * 100

    where Nkr is number of times the keyphrase is repeated;
    Tkn is total number of words;
    Nwp is the number of words in the keyphrase.

    This formula basically reduces the total number of words by the excess words above one in the keyphrase throughout the article. It will give a slightly higher keyword density that the usual Nkr/Tkn but nothing radically different for a 500 to 1000 word article.

    I notice that Easy Wp SEO wordpress plugin which I just started using gives two options for the keyword density calculation:
    Density = Nkr/Tkn
    or Density = Nkr/(Tkn/Nkr)).

    The second formula is going to give an artificially inflated keyword density which is completely wrong.

    Having said all that I agree that counting keyword density is a waste of time as long as you put it in the tags and so on and be natural.

    • Thanks for sharing these tools to check keyword density.
    • Ok i saw this formula here: http://www.vodahost.com/web-hosting-...-density.html/

      please correct me cause im trying to do a keyword density advanced checker online to help out the community and i really want to correct formula to use:
      using the last "correcy formula" lets say i have an article or a text of 100 words (lets put it easy so the math is faster than compared to 500 or whatever)
      if i have a:

      • Keyword phrase of which repeats through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: (the keyword/phrase density sounds ok)
      • Keyword phrase of which repeats through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: (the keyword/phrase density doesnt sounds that eal if im using already 30/100 and its just 12.51)
      • Keyword phrase of which repeats through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: (the keyword/phrase density sound quite dodgy to be a true density, cause ill have just 40 words left and the phrase )
      • Keyword phrase of which repeats through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: (the keyword/phrase density sounds non logical since i repeat everyting 30 times and i have just 10 extra keyword to use in the whole article)
      So this formula seems quite biased for me

      also here Live Keyword Analysis
      a real popular keyword density, which they also quote, if you put lets say 100 words and a 3 words phrase repeated 10 times, it displays a 20.4% density, this is simply not right

      can someone come up with which one is the real answer for keyword density on a phrase, i think i would use the one on the article before their "master formula"

      (Phrase Number of Words)*(Repetition of the phrase)/(Total Words in the article)

      any help?
  • Could try to the following url-
    bestseotools(dot)net(slash)webmaster(hyphen)tools( slash)keyword(hyphen)density(hyphen)checker(slash)
  • really great informations here. thanks you all

  • Hello! I think there's a certain formula, just like a mathematical one to calculate the density of your keyword. But I think there's a less complicated way and a software to do this. Just try and research for them cause there's lots of them. Best of luck!
  • used to use the word count function to find the total words in the article, then use Find function to highlight and count the set of keywords.
    For example, 1000 words article with 45 sets of "Christmas shopping", then I divide to get the keyword density.
