Can I expand a micro niche website

I found a very good KW and bought EMD. However the related keywords have very low searches and I don't want that. I want a 10 page website with kws that have at least 1000 searches.

So my question is can I use keywords that are in the same general niche but not necessarily related to my main keyword?
For example my main keyword in the EMD is "golf hats" can I have an article on the same website targeting the kw "how to play golf".

      Yeah you can use related keywords for sure. It helps to be completely related to the EMD keyword though...although I'm not Google so I can't say that for sure obviously.

      I like to make sure when I purchase a domain that the site will be effortlessly expandable. Meaning, you don't have to stretch the imagination too much to think about blog post topics to add.

        Would you do it on a webpage if you were targeting the keyword "golf hats" ? Then why do it on an "EMD" website? If you do you're diluting the effect of the EMD/Theme. On a niche website maybe, but the further you get from the EMD you're diluting it's effect. It's hard to go wide with an EMD and stay within the theme. If it's working don't fix it. If it's not...

          First off, I would like to say that EMDs are not all they are cracked up to be.

          Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I would like to say that when you choose a domain name, choose a broad theme for your website, but a theme that is targeted enough so that no matter the visitors you get they are going to want to stay and look over your website.

          But no, if your website is about golf hats, don't put in stuff on how to play golf. That is going way off the theme of the website.

          Now, if you created a general website about gold accessories, then you could put in books and gadgets on how to improve your golf swing and such.

          However, what I would do if I were in your shoes is expand on that, and create pages on the different kinds, colours etc etc of golf hats. ( not sure how many you can write about, but be creative; brands come to mind ).

    You cannot do this, otherwise you will get arrested by the Micro Niche Site police.

    Jokes aside, personally I don't see a problem with it. If you are ranking well for "golf hats" and you expand out to other "golf" keywords, you have an advantage in that you have the strength of the domain behind expanding. The more you expand into other "golf" keywords the stronger the whole domain becomes. You will then develop an authority site :-)
