What is the PR of the forums and blogs? Also, are they DoFollow? If you are looking to increase your PR (which is overrated for SERPs, so I hope you are doing this to sell the website or some personal satisfaction), you need a lot of high PR DoFollow backlinks.

The best way to get a high PR is by getting backlinks from high PR sites.

It's best to keep a mixture of both do follow and no follow links to make it look a bit more natural to Google.

You can easily find some high PR urls through Google by using SEO Quake (any other recommendations? Anyone?) and typing in the niche your trying to rank for.

You can try senuke x for getting more link juice to your site and can also hire some blog commenter to comment on blogs that ones more than of PR 4-5 to get higher PR.....

I can't exactly say anything regarding Senuke X. Personally, I've never used it.

But yea, essentially that's exactly what I said.. Comment on high PR sites...

You have to take into account the number of links that are on the page though. The less links that are located on that page the higher PR juice you're site/page will get.

I believe your links are from the pages which are not relevant to the content of your site. Try to grab about a 1000-1500 links from article marketing using articles which are on the same topic as your site is.

I know 1000-1500 seems t be a big number but believe me it is not going to be very difficult task. All you have to do is write 10 articles and submit them to about 100 article directories.

    Consider outsourcing.

I just read your problem. I opened your website. Google not showing any links,it means that you have all no follow link for your site. Try to do only do-follow blogs. Google will give the quality links to your site. Automatically your site get page-Rank.Thank you..

Google Page Rank(PR) is important to show your website or web page reputation according to Google Algorithm. You can increase your website page rank by creating good quality inbound links.

so just use google blog search and find blogs with good pr and not that many links on it.

    is that the easiest way?

That's one way. Alternatively you can install SEOQuake (or another plugin like it - Firefox) and do a google search using:

      Niche "leave a comment"

Niche will be whatever your site is about.. Leave a comment will search for blogs/sites/pages that have the ability to leave comments on them.

Do you use the "" around the leave a comment or just google something like this

        baseball cards leave a comment
        Or like this?
        baseball cards "leave a comment"

    Use the quotations.

    Example:

"Weight Loss" "Leave a comment" ".edu/.gov/.com/.net/.org/.info"

The first one will be your niche keyword, the second will be finding pages that allow you to leave comments and the third will be the domain extention you want to look for. Great for finding .edu and .gov links to comment on.

Please do focus on getting some quality backlinks, does not matter how much these are in quantity. Relevance is the key to success here.

Get some articles with relevant content from high PR domains. For example, search for relevant blogs in your niche ask them for a guest post. Then make the article unique, relevant to your website keywords and put the link in the articles. You can do the same with web 2.0. After that, blast the submitted articles with backlinks (choose those links wisely. not spam links) over time to get the PR of their URL higher. After that you should see some moving in PR on your money site. But only if you can make the PR of the other URLs higher. I guess this is the cheapest solution.

Not to promote any product but I generally just scrape up a bunch of niche related blogs using Scrapebox. I then run it throughout the built in PR checker. There is also a blog analyzer that will let you know more about each site. Contextual back links are very important however so I must agree with SamuelUherek. Good strategy!

A lot of stuff here. But let's get a reality check.

And this will be a rare time I give away a secret, along
with an explanation. This may get buried in the forum,
so be it. A few may see it and benefit. Or at least have
      something to mull over.

You want free PR? Free PR is out there. You get PR by
a link, anywhere, that is not nofollow. All that matters is
that google finds and counts the link. Make all the pages,
blogs, sites, etc. that you can. There is a plethora of
freebies, from squidoo to wordpress, and blogspot to
      ezinearticles.

Any link counts in this genre, and notably internal linking.
      Yes, internal links are links.

It is a myth that you need high PR links. This is where the
explanation comes in. Let's say you are PR2. The logic
here touted is that one would need PR3 and above to
get to PR3. And if one was PR3, they would need PR4,
and so on. Can you imagine a PR6 site needing to get
PR7 links to move up? That would be a daunting task.

And that would mean you need to be the only link
on that PR7 page to get full benefit. That would be
virtually impossible. So, logic would hold that since
this would be impossible to always get higher, solo
PR links, then it must be impossible to move up.
Nothing could be further form the truth. A PR2 site
could well move up to PR3 and above, based solely
      on PR0-PR2 links.

PR is all about votes. And all links that count are votes.
So any and all links counted will help you move up.

Now granted, you created a page and the PR is n/a. But
in a very short time the page should naturally move up
to PR0, provided one does the most minimal things. Not
      hard.

So go out and create your link empire using YOUR sites.

How do you think wikipedia got to PR9? From only
PR10 links? I'd like someone to find me just one PR10
link that wikipedia has. I'd wager the only PR9 links they
      have are internal.

That is good stuff. It took me a long time to figure out the value of every page on any of my sites. On each page I always link once to the home page in the body of the article as well as another relevant page on the site. Most of the time the links are distracting and I'm doing it for the internal linking alone. Because of this, I usually make the link close to the text color (I only want the link--the blue link is distracting in the article).

I learned this from a friend who always had many links on each page. With every new blog he started he achieved a pr 3 or 4 from zero by the very next update.

It is often easier to get 1 good PR link than the hundreds/thousands of PR 1 and 2 links which would be the equivalent, particularly the higher up the chain you get. The more links you get, the more links you risk losing.

How long you've been building links? Sometimes people are whining about their PR is not increasing but totally unaware of the PR updates that is occurring in Google.

So, if you have just started, just build links until you get the PR you want for that particular page.

I had one, I'll try to remember where I put it.

Just so you know though.. Because the blog site has a high page rank doesn't mean YOUR blog will. A page rank is just that... A ranking of an individual page. You're not going to get any juice from a PR9 Wordpress.com site - not unless they give you a do-follow link on their homepage (which they won't).

It's great for building link pyramids though

You will get a higher ranking by doing that.

What I'm saying though is that PAGES have a PR - not sites.

The homepage can be a PR9 but that doesn't mean any posts you comment on will be a PR9, it could be PR2, PR5 or have no PR at all.

I recommend to estimate in a complex a blog which make comments. The page can not have PR, but receive it later.

And diluting of anchor sheet is very useful.

The main thing, what the made comments blog was qualitative. At us it is called SFP - "a site for people", and not just for positions in TOP.

Hi! I have come today on a forum the first time. Me theme PR interests.

In my region PR it is not important for advancement. At us it is important TIC - a thematic index of citing.

To receive PR3-4 at us it is possible having put only 5-10 external references.

I recommend to exchange references with Russian sites.

To whom the necessary free references from Russian sites with PR3-4 - write me to personal messages.
I will be glad to the international friendship on interests.

Forgive for my bad language Thanks

Please keep in mind that you are going to 1 PR. kindly ensure one thing that there may be 2 method. First is that simple SEM, you have to pay Google for 1st ranking. but this way is most costly. so on the other hand you have just effort Seo onpage and offpage. This will be very slow procedure but cost saving. you have to get most favorite back link for this off page seo.

If you aren't investing money you will HAVE to at some point. Trying to do SEO on the cheap was the worst mistake. If I had decided to spend money on HIGH QUALITY HIGH PR Backlinks earlier I'd be making 3 times as much by now.

You can try quality back links on high ranking do-follow site to increase your web page rank. So you should try do-follow forum posting, do-follow blog commenting, article submission, do-follow bookmarking etc. Thanks and all the best.

would it be good to get a backlink from a site that has nothing to do with your niche.. but the forum or blog has a good pr? this will most likely not get you any traffic because the people in the forum want nothing to do with your site, but its a backlink from a high pr forum.. and you will see results in google ranking.. True Or False?

In my testing, I've found it's better to leave backlinks on relevant niches. Although, you would still get juice from the non related ones.

Basically.. Focus on your niche backlinks but if you stumble across one that is just to good to pass up, then leave your link.

Have each page linking to several other pages on your site (crosslinking). That should be especially helpful for balancing the page ranking across different pages of your site, and of course it should help your visitors to find related content on your site.
Try to include a few outbound links to high quality sites in every document. That indicates a quality connection between your document and others sites that Google already considers to be quality sites. When linking to those sites, try to include the important keywords in those links.

If you are truly only interested in increasing the PR to your page then get links from pages that have higher PR than yours. If you can do it you can get one PR 8 link with minimal OBL's and your page probably will be PR 5 at the next update. However, this is very volatile and I would not recommend this. Get hundreds of PR 0 links and build up from there.

Quickest way to up your page rank that I never see talked about here is PPC.

This is what I can tell you with no experience in this.
My competitors all have a rank of 1-2 (none higher than 2) and some of them have thousands upon thousands of backlinks.

My strongest competitor has 15,000 backlinks. I have like 67 I think.
However, my site is ranked 3 and his is 2.

The reason is (imo) he doesn't do any PPC. Just seo. I focused on just PPC for a while (paying someone outside the company) and I think just getting tons of traffic alone w/out backlinks can up your page rank.

Still however, the competitor with backlinks beats me in google searches. Although his site is ranked less. Go figure.
I'm not saying SEO isn't important but I think a combination of PPC/SEO is ultimately the best & fastest way to rank a site. When I look at my competitors it seems they either have tons of ads up, or no ads and tons of backlinks. But very few of them have a balanced integration of both SEO/PPC which is what I'm aiming for.

I think how things are situated now, having no backlinks but a better rank, once I do SEO our site should hopefully obliterate our competitors.

Likely not, but doesn't hurt to dream. We somehow beat them all in page rank with no SEO, so I can't imagine what adding SEO will do for our business.

It depends upon the nature of the backlinks that you are getting. Probably hundreds good would have done better than thousands of bogus backlinks. It depends upon the pr of the source as well the backlinks you are getting from.

For instance, if your social bookmarking choices are else than Reddit, Slashdot, SU, Dropjack and Digg etc you will get lowest possible traffic rate per post; if your web 2.0 posts are not posted on Weebly, Squidoo, Live Journal and Posterous etc you will not get quality backlinks as well and if your chosen article directories are else than the those that really can help your business's marketing plan then you may see further drop down.

Make a good plan and work on it.

    My little contribution:

To attain a high page rank, your site needs to have several pages with unique content.

Do not just build links to your home page but also to your inner pages.

You need no follow and do follows links.

Build back links to other sites like articles directories, web 2.0 linking to your site. As this sites moves high in PR it will also help your site to be an authority site as well as increase your PR too.

Here is a PDF http://pagerank7.xtrememind.com/howtogetpagerank7.pdf, it was written in 2006 but there is still a lot you can learn from there.

ONE PR6 backlink could help you reach PR5 (of course if it has only 1 or 2 OBL)
