I have a site with 30,000 registered users and many thousands of pages of user generated content. The owners of many of these pages have posted their inks across the internet as links to showcase their media (in this case user generated music and musician bios etc). I've tried to check the number of backlinks coming to the site and I get anything from 0 (not available at this time) to 10. Is there something I'm missing? I personally have posted links to my own profile page and music hundreds of times across the web and I know some other users who are pimping their material on a daily basis for a number of years. Could there be something on my site (.NET platform) that makes the calculation of backlinks difficult for 3rd party software or could there be some other kind of issue?
