The Myth Of A Buying Keyword - Marketing 101

Newsflash... That has nothing to do with marketing. That's called making a website and trying to monitize it with adsense or affiliate links.

Now onto something I don't think many people understand, so I want to offer a little value today.
This applies mostly to affiliate marketing, but could apply to adsense as well.
Want to know what a buying keyword is? It's literally any keyword that has to do with anything about your niche, product, etc.
Here's a real example from my personal life.
I needed to buy a new microphone for my PC because I've been doing a lot of training videos. So naturally I started doing some research. Now I'm kind of a research nut, so I started looking at all sorts of searches.
"how to make my audio sound better when recording videos"
"best PC microphone"
"Improve audio quality during video production"
"PC microphone reviews"
"microphones that sound good with video"
Anyway, I literally spent a week or so researching. I read a TON of garbage. The normal review sites that are built with nothing in mind but getting me to click a link to amazon.
Anyway, here's what I didn't find...
"Free report shows how to improve audio quality for better training videos or podcasts"
Now, just think if I had stumbled upon such a report. I would have certainly opted in and read the report. And if it was good, I would stay on that guys/gals list. And they recommended a microphone in the report, and I thought they were credible, I would have bought it (I had about $150 budget).
But it doesn't stop there. Imagine they continue to talk to me to about the importance of podcasting, doing video via training, webinars, etc. Think of the opportunities they have to continue to market to me...
Here's the lesson...
Anyone who is searching for information on a product/solution is a buyer. Every search is a "buyer keyword". Its just that everyone is at a different point in the buying cycle.
Some are just starting their research. Some are just looking for confirmation before pulling the trigger. Some just want a little social proof. Whatever...
That's why people say the "money is in the list" because you can help all of these people. You can continue to help them solve their problems, build trust and credibility, and sell them products that they will happily buy.
So the next time you're looking for a buyers keyword, please remember you're looking for the wrong thing.
You need to be asking how can I get this person in my sales funnel, and convert them into a buyer by helping them understand what's their best solution.
